The short of it: It's a very easy, silly guessing game. The person who volunteers as the Reader picks a scenario and everyone else in on the fun writes down their answers in secret and gives them to him or her. Once the Reader has them and lists them, then everyone but the Reader takes turns to guess who wrote what. When all the answers are revealed, someone else can choose to be the Reader and write up the next scenario.

In the forum version the secret answers can be done by PM. Originally it's a pencil/pen and paper game I haven't played in a while, sadly.

Hey. Just got back from a bonus board game meetup at this new game store that opened about a month ago. (Awesome, friendly place.) Tonight's meetup fun was a little shorter than the previous ones I've been to, but it was still fun! I got to introduce this card game Infernal Contraption to my mom and our friend Bob! I first learned how to play Infernal Contraption during the International Tabletop Day event that took place on a Saturday, from noon to 10PM. That and one other game I never played before.

Infernal Contraption is this neat and wacky card game of elimination in which you use the cards to build up your own contraption you use to attack your opponent(s). 2 to 4 players. The objective is to be the last remaining person with a draw pile. If you have no deck to draw cards from, you're out. There are different types of cards that represent the different materials for your contraption. Some I didn't even remember when playing it the second time around.

AND...I also discovered there's two of this one evil card in which everyone's drawing piles (A.K.A. the Parts Pile) get shuffled and evenly redistributed. I thought there was only one of those! You don't know what all you got until you get to draw from it--and it's likely that your Parts Pile gets bit smaller after that process is done. There are some cards in which don't benefit anyone, but that specific kind of card is the worst, lol. All in all, I still like this game. Mom thought it was okay, and probably would enjoy it the second or third time. Took Bob a while to get into the swing of it, and I've observed he enjoyed it as much as she did.

Then we played two rounds of this simple dice game we've been all very familiar with and like a lot, called Fandooble. You roll the dice to steal from the "dragons' stash" in the center and/ or your opponents. Some of us have rolled a few of the worst rolls, 3 red dragons. That means losing not only what loot you gather, but your whole stash too. That happened to me twice, and happened to Bob once. Mom rolled 3 dragons at the beginning of the first game and lost her starting stash.

Now I'm home, and catching up on some stuff around here and Livejournal.com RP stuff...
