"Let us take care of her." Shani said, her voice shaking with rage at the state of her niece. She turned to Asante. "You know what to do, right?" she asked him. He nodded. "I do." he replied. "My pride hates hyenas. But to see a tiny scrap of fur like her being killed by them? IT IS UNACCEPTABLE!" His roar shook the graveyard. "Leamba will pay for what she did to your daughter." he said to Alonzo. "You need to go back. And, for your information, your daughter is not dead. She is still alive." he told Alonzo.

"I know, i feel the same way." Shani lay her tail on his shoulder. "But, you arrived just in time to save Carissa. Let's go back." She walked over to Carissa's limp body and picked the copper-brown cub by the scruff of her neck. She nodded to Asante, thanking him for his help. "We'll take it from here." Asante told Alonzo. "These hyenas have stolen from us, and have also killed many of our cubs. This is our chance to take revenge."

Chaka raised his head as Shani and Alonzo approached. He called to Sauda and they both ran over to Shani and Alonzo. "My poor baby." Sauda nuzzled Carissa's blood soaked fur. "I'll go get Rafiki this instant." Shani said before dashing off. She soon returned with the old baboon shaman. In a few minutes, Carissa's wounds were treated and the blood was washed off her fur. "She just needs to rest." Rafiki told Sauda and Alonzo. "She'll be as good as new tomorrow."

Sayari mewed again and walked over to his father before falling on Alonzo's huge paws. Sayari mewed again and looked up at his parents with his brilliant eyes.

Sauda sighed. "At least he's still a long time to live." she said, nuzzling Alonzo. Then she got up and picked Carissa up. She turned back to face Alonzo. "I'll need you to bring Sayari back." she said through a ball of fur.

(No, how about we make him look like Sayari, but with green eyes and his father's eye patches?)

Sauda laughed. "Why not try saying that to his face when he's an adult?" she taunted.

"Yeah, but wait. She'll grow up into the queen we want her to be in no time flat." Sauda nuzzled Alonzo. "I'm crashing now." She put her head down and fell asleep.
