Eureka jumped and whirled around. "Oh..uh...i was with," she paused and sighed. "Everett..." She wasn't going to tell him that Everett had gotten angry more than once and had thrown her around.

"hah.... Riiiight." Bran joked. He chuckled softly, and sniffed his sister, smelling Blaine.
"Who else........?" he asked, laying down.

"Oh..." Reka sat down. "This other guy i just met, Blaine." Her tail thumped the floor slightly as she spoke. "We kinda ran into each other. Then we started talking and Everett came over. Blaine kept trying to stand up for me though."

Bran lifted his head, listening to his siter's tail thumping. he smiled in the dark and yawned.
'Hah, i like this Blaine guy...." And Bran drifted off into sleep.

Eureka looked out into the night and sighed thoughtfully, thinking of both Everett and Blaine.

The following morning...

Blaine yawned, shaking off sleep. He sang "teenage dream" to himself as he strolled into the woods, to get a drink from the river.

Sitting a bit farther downstream sat Eureka. She sat quietly watching the water. She loved the water, something she got from her mother.

Blaine lapped up water, and lifted his muzzle upwords, smelling the air. Something's close..... he thought, wandering in Her direction. Soon, he saw Eureka looking at her relfection peacefully in the water.
"Reka?" he called, picking up speed at the very sight of her.

Eureka rose her head, her ears pricking forward. She turned towards Blaine as he came toward her. She smiled. "Oh, hey Blaine," the tip of her tail wagged slightly.

Blaine looked at Eureka and smiled a sweet smile, thumping his tail on the ground as he sat down. he cautisously peered around, checking for Everett.

"So, what are you up too?"

She shrugged, noticing his cautious glance. "Just sitting here...getting away from the family." Eureka paused, then added. "And Everett of course.."

His thumping stopped and he looked sadly at Eureka.
"You can't just let him treat you that way Reka... It's, not right.." He moved closer, and wrapped his tail around hers.

Eureka looked down at her paws. "I know," she folded her ears back. "I just...can't stand up to him." she sighed. "I've tried...i just lose confidence half way."

he licked her cheek again.
"hey, don't cry, it's okay, you can do it. I'll help, you know youre eyes are like stars...." he said, leaning on Eureka. He thumped his tail slightly before hearing the soft sneeky crackle of twigs snapping.

Eureka smiled, she enjoyed being around Blaine, she couldn't tell why though. Her ears perked, hearing the snap of twigs and the sound of an approaching wolf. "oh no..." She turned towards the noise.
