Fern tried to remember everything that Cody told her, making mental notes of the do's and don't's of werewolf life. "Well, I'll definately find it interesting," she said with a smirk. "It's just going to take a while to get used to, I guess."

Cody nodded his head and said "There is one rule that you must 'always' follow and that is never jeopardize the pack, 'no matter what'. You must always keep the pack first. That is werewolf life. Never endanger your pack or they will turn on you, myself included."

"That shouldn't be too hard," Fern said with a shrug, feeling the air tense with the seriousness of Cody's words. But as she looked around the room, Fern realized she already felt a small connection with everyone in the room, and she wondered if that was part of her werewolf instincts.

Cody sighed in frustration and said "And there are the pack links that every wolf has with their pack mates and especially their alphas. The alphas can use the pack links to make them stronger than lone wolves or subordinates. I think omegas are apart of the pack link but don't know how because I can't since them in any way when they join my pack for a certain time."

"So you can sense when I new wolf joins you pack?" Fern asked curiously.

Cody nodded and said "Yes and I'll show you how. You will since another presence inside your head but don't be afraid it's just me." He entered Fern's mind, looking through it as much as he could but only little images appeared and they were all jumbled so he couldn't make since of any of it.

Fern jumped slightly as images flashed before her eyes of memories that were not her own. She gapsed in surprise and shock at the whole experience.

Cody smiled and said "I fainted the first time being introduced to the pack links. You must be an omega. Do you feel anything now that I stopped forcing it into you."

"Should I?" Fern asked worriednly when she didn't feel much of anything anymore.

Cody nodded and said "You should if you weren't an omega."

"Then, I guess I must be an omega," Fern said.

Cody laughed and said "Duh! That's obvious, Fern!"

Samantha walked up to Cody and slammed her fist into the back of his head and sent him flying. She said "Don't be smart. This is serious business."

Cody looked at Samantha for a second but apologized to Fern a while later.

"It's fine," Fern said to Cody when he apologized to her. "Honestly, I don't even really know what being an omega means."

Cody chuckled and said "Omegas keep the pack together usually. That's all I know about them due to them being extremely rare."

"So, is that a good thing or not?" Fern asked, wondering if being rare made her specail or a problem.
