Morning sunlight streamed through the canopy of leaves overhead, bathing everything in ethereal green light. Sadie sat up with a start; she hadn't realized she had dozed off. She looked at Rio and Laika, who still lay sleeping, and then the other three pups. They too, were still asleep. Her amber eyes looked at Grant last of all. He hadn't moved as far as she could tell, and was either limp or asleep.

"Morning, Rio," Sadie greeted. "Will you be okay if I go and hunt?"

Sadie nodded, and walked off. She had only gone a few feet out of sight before something told her that all was not right. She frowned, worry making her heart flutter.

Ai appeared out of the trees, a smirk on her face. "Hello, Rio. Long time no see," she said, a soft edge of menace adding another layer to what could be innocent words. She shot forward, and grabbed Laika, who was just stirring. She stepped away, knowing Rio wouldn't be able to move easily.

Laika yelped, twisting in the mysterious, frightening wolfess. She was unable to get free, and looked at her father, shock and fear in her eyes. "Let me go!" she demanded shakily, trying to growl.

Sadie couldn't hear this, but the feeling that something was wrong persisted. She shook her head, as if to get rid of it, and continued forward. Food was the main priority right now, not her hunches.

Rio hoped Ai would let go of Laika and flee.

Kyle and Michelle woke up. They saw Laika held in the grasp of Ai. In the matter of time Ryan pounced behind them, and grabbed them both.

"Hello Rio. Nice to see you again." Ryan said. "Ai, Lets go! Get The other!" He said.

Kyle and Michelle were in horror, squirming to get out, but Ryan had too good of a grip.

Rio Yelled for Sadie. "SADIE!"

Ooc: I think they should make it out and Rio and Saide have to venture their way to find them. And they can hold Grant Captive?

Juno yelped as Ai grabbed him from behind, and he dangled helplessly next to his sister.

Ai managed to speak past the fur and pup in her mouth. "Let's go." She bounded off, just in time for Sadie to see the disappearing tip of her tail.

Sadie emerged from the trees to see a desperate Rio, missing pups, and a flash of tan fur as Ai disappeared. "No!" she cried out in anguish. "No, no, no!" Tears were now streaking down her face, a mixture of fear, anger, and grief.

Sadie nodded, her rage and grief taking over, lending speed to her paws. She ran for what seemed like hours, though it wasn't really that long. There was no sign of them, and her tears began again. She collapsed on the forest floor, feeling no urge to move. Her pups were gone, Rio was injured, and Ai....heaving sobs filled the air, even more surprising than her initial tears.

Sadie eventually returned to her senses, her tears spent. She felt numb inside, the grief lingering on the edge of her mind, looming over her and making her realize how desperate she was to hope....there was no hope anymore. Consumed in her thoughts, she slowly stood, not even noticing how stiff her muscles were, a fact that would normally irritate her. She began walking slowly towards where Rio was, not even caring if she managed to get there in her weak, dazed state. She did complete the small journey though, and collapsed next to Rio.
