Silversnow shook her head. "Guess we'll find out though," she pointed out.

"Guess so," Nightstar agreed, trotting out of the camp to join the patrol. And who was to be leading it but Daystar. Nightstar narrowed her eyes at her brother. He was a good Fighter and quite smart, but also a goofball. She was a bit worried in the back of her mind that he wouldn't be able to possess the calm, serious demeanor that was needed in a patrol leader. But she relaxed as she realized that ol' Moony, a much older and more experienced Fighter, would be joining them. Nightstar was sure that Moony would assist Daystar if he so needed.

"Woah...Daystar's leading?" Silversnow murmured into Nightstar's ear. She looked at him critically with her green eyes; could this goofball of a wolf lead a patrol?

"Yup," Nightstar confirmed. "I can only wonder how many contours he'll wanna make! But I'm sure ol' Moony will keep him in line." She nodded to the older wolf.

Silversnow nodded in response. "I hope so," she murmured under her breath, too low for her friend to hear. She begin padding forward. "Aren't we supposed to join them?" she asked, looking back at Nightstar.

"Haven't we already?" Nightstar said in a "duh" tone, gesturing to the wolves around them.

"Not necessarily," Silversnow replied. She didn't wait for Nightstar to respond, she only padded forward a bit more, actually merging with the patrol rather than being near it.

Daystar shook his thick, silver scruff. "Uh...ok, everyone," he announced, a bit awkwardly, as this was his first time leading a patrol, "Let's ...erm...move out! We're patrolling the, uh, Tribe of the West border."

Nightstar allowed herself to giggle inwardly at her brother's light stutters, but followed nonetheless.

Silversnow followed Daystar, amusement glittering in her green eyes. She had never gotten along with Daystar as well as she had Nightstar, but she wasn't necessarily enemies with him or anything.

The trek was a long one. Tribe of the West border was the farthest from the Tribe of the North's camp. Nightstar had to admit, she was impressed that her brother even found his way there. But he did manage it, using his highly sensitive nose to sniff out the distinctive Western scent.

Normally, Silversnow would comment on the fact that Daystar had found his way here, surprisingly. But she hated long walks, and somewhere during the trek, had awkwardly twisted her paw, spraining it. Grumpiness was obvious on her face, but she didn't mutter any complaints, instead hiding the slight limp her paw gave her.

Nightstar nudged her friend with her muzzle. "Hey, you all right?" she murmured, noticing the storm cloud that coated Silversnow's face and blocked out the sunny cheerfulness that normally shone in her emerald-green gaze.

Silversnow mentally shook her grumpiness away, and managed a smile at Nightstar. "Just fine," she said.

Nightstar looked back ahead, now reassured. "Ok, good. Let's keep moving; I think we're almost there."

Silversnow made the effort to hurry, wincing as she stumbled, her paw twinging with pain. It was more irritating than anything, really, and she hated it.
