Nika rolled over as she awoke, the moon hung lightly now. "I'm so nervous." She murmmered, getting up and fixing her coat carefully. The white and black lioness walked swiftly out of her dena dn then gracfully ran towards the lake.

Nika turned around and smiled before she bounded towards him, embracing him tightly."You came, I almost thought that you wouldn't." She blushed a little and tilted her ears back as she looked up at him.

Nika pawed the male playfully and smirked "I know this now." She smirked and ran forward "Follow me!" She called behind her shoulder as she ran faster. She knew what she was looking for, and she couldn't wait to show him.

David ran after her almost like galloping like a horse because of his weight. He finally caught up with her and they ran in peace together and he smiled at her but tripped over a rock and there was all kinds of blood everywhere. Since it was dark out, and hardly any moon was out, he couldn't see the rock below with his night vision because of his legs being a blur.

Nika spun around quickly and ran back towards him "David!" She yelped as she skidded to a stop infront of him and looked worridly at him. "Are you alright?" She asked, her voice tense with worry.

Nika licked his wounds softly but rapidly, her soft tongue running over the bloody skin. "You'll be okay, I promise." She whispered before continuing to lick his wounds again.

Nika gasped in horror as he fell again. Tears welled up in her eyes as she threw her head back and let out a massive roar "HELP US!" She cried into the night air, but when no reply came she picked his heavy body up and carried him back towards the pride. As she walked his weight seemed to be getting heavier and heavier, her back shaking with the force. "Hahaha!" A crackling voice came from behind them, followed by two more "Looky looky Shanti, we have ourselves some little bloodbirds!" The male threw his head up in laughter, the other two followed. "Oh Benja, looks like her little friend here is..." She lurched forward at Nika's face and snapped but missed purposfully "Hurt.." Her voice sounded so lifeless, like she wasn't even alive or even real. Nika clenched her jaw as she slowly slid David off of her back, ready for the fight. "Get away from him!" She snapped harshly, her eyes looked cold-bloode and cruel. "Woah, woah little missy, boy you should keep your lioness on a leash!" The second male barked, they all cackled in laughter again. But suddenly the laughter stopped, and the three hyenas adruptly looked at her with evil in their eyes, she knew their mission, she knew it well. Shanti flung herself at her, jaws clamping down hard on her neck, drawing blood. Nika kicked her in the stomache and before she was sent flying Nika caught her by her stomache and tore into her. As Shanti's body went half limp the other two males jumped on her, tearing into her flesh. Nika jumped on her back, cruhing Benja and his brother Kaydie. The scrambled up and shreiked and scattered. "Cowards!" She roared angerly into the wind before shakily limping over to David. "I'll get you home..." She whispered before picking him up again, her blood mixing with his now as she made the short journey home. As she entered the den site she collapsed onto the dirt ground, her chest heaving heavily as she began to hypervenalate.
