She comforted me. The image of my best friend lying limp on the ground because he scarficed his life for me burned into my head. "I'll give you some alone time. I love you." She whispered in my ear kissed me lightly and headed back for our den. "Oh Charley! You shoudn't have wasted your life for a scgralley old dog for me you ding dong." The branchs on the trees rustled reminding me of his rough laugh. I could tell her was with me....sprtiually. " I'm gonna miss you buddy." I whimpered retsing my head on his limp body my tears spilled onto his fur. I sobbed feeling a breeze on my back, a comforting pat from my best friend. "I know you'll still be with me but it's not the same. Never be able to fish togher, water fights, chase gesse-" I stopped as more sobbs over took me. A group of clouds moved over to the part of the sky I was under, he was upset too. "I'll never forget you buddy." I whispered then got up dragged myself back to my den half excpeting my child hood friend to pop up in front of me and start to play fight with me. He was gone forever and all because of me. We had swore to be best friends for forever when we were pups.Well I sighed, forever can end quickly for the unlucky.
