I thin people mainly come to this site to get reasuaince about like Balto because the real world is not a fan, so we come here to talk about him, but there isn't really a good vibe

I think the main reason why we come on here to talk about him is because it can be fun and interesting to hear (or in this case read) what other fans have to say about our favorite movies and we also want to share what we think about the movie. Plus it allows us to meet other fans, those are all the reasons why I joined. So I seriously doubt there would be a "negative" vibe on this site (If there was a negative vibe on here then this site would either be completely dead or have lots of hate!)

Sometimes, especially if you're an adult or teen, enjoying children's entertainment publicly can lead to ridicule. I think I already mentioned this, but in college my roommates reased me about liking the Balto series, and I was petrified at the thought of them knowing I dreamed about The Land Before Time once. To this day, librarians who know me and are aware that I'm looking to become a children's author look at me funny when I check out movies like Balto. I've actually considered a career in babysitting just so I'll have an excuse to borrow movies like Pinnochio or The Fox and the Hound. And it's been years since I dared to look up some of my favorite movies.

I mean come on... it was made BY adults. Don't they even bother considering maybe that's a career I'm interested in pursuing and that's partially why I read or watch what I read or watch? And I don't have interests in JUST childish things, so why look down on me like I'm the juvenile age that some of my interests are made for? Some of my friends are like that. ...actually almost everyone I know in "real life" is like that. Might be why I myself am not so open about my interest in cartoons anymore. But then again I don't have a lot of people I talk to other than my parents as of late, so there's no one to really tell that doesn't already know and/or care. That's true. And frankly, I for one would rather be looked at strangely because my tastes conflict with my age than because I was watching something in conflict with who I am and who I was made to be, which most "adult" movies are. As one man much wiser than I ever expect to be once said, "Let n one look down on your youth." I think I speak for everyone here, though, when I say that the bottom line is I'm none too fond of being looked down on at all. I have stumbled onto a solution I think will work, though: the next time I go to the library, I'm going to check out extremes from both ends of the spectrum (something tasteful but R-rated, and something so kiddish I'd usually hesitate to borrow it). If they're going to think I'm strange, I may as well get a good laugh out of it myself.

And it is just as true within the confines of this community, where people tend to pick on others so readily, and certain people are practically ostracized or blackballed because they stand up for themselves or have strong opinions (hint hint).

The problem with being ticked that someone else has a strong opinion is that in so doing, you are exhibiting a strong opinion that it's wrong to have a strong opinion. And if that sounds convoulted, it's supposed to.
