She smiled meekly. "Of course. I'm happy for you - it's just I'm a bit too full to really swallow it is all. I've never been social, and you know I never craved acceptance. I just left." she shrugged. "I..." she frowned, turning to her friend. "I Missed you."

"I know." Hiccup sighed. "So what do we do?"

"D'you still feel bad? You need rest." she told him, looking concerned. "I don't want you to feel like you've got to get up and move around if you still ache."

Hiccup looked slightly relieved. "You're right- and I don't think i could move even if I wanted too. Are you staying in the village?"

She stared, looking blank. "I... I hadn't even thought about it," she told him. "I... Can't really leave my flock out there, but I could stay here until your back into full shape," she offered, smiling. She added, "More than that spending time around Ruff, Tuff, and Snotlout might kill me."

"Aww, come on, they arent that bad!" Hiccup protested. Ashling stared at him. "Okay, yeah, they are kinda annoying."

She gave one of her over-exaggerated, obviously-not-real sighs. "I'll stay," she told him. "Of course I'll probably be sleeping at home and hiking out daily. I've lost a couple hens to some of the wild terrors around and don't care to leave them to their own devices." she flashed him a slightly frustrated look, but it disappeared after just a moment.

(Man, I just realized that if June's the jealous type, this will Not go over well. XD)

"We should train watch-dragons..." Hiccup mumbled, instantly lost in his thoughts.

She smiled and laid back on his bed, between the edge and his feet, feeling that it may be best for her to leave him to his thoughts. Of course, in the middle of the woods, surely the dragons wouldn't be able to help her chickens, but all the same, she knew Hiccup was a bit frustrated with the whole injury issue. Ashling closed her eyes for a few moments.

There was a knock at the door, causing both vikings to jump. "Hiccup, i have a problem," Nova called.

Ashling jerked upright, gasping suddenly. She'd dozed off in the silence, and the interruption caused her to start. She panted, heart pounding. She stood up immediately.

Hiccup glanced at Ashling. "I'll be back," he sighed, pulling himself off the bed and disappearing downstairs.
Nova stood on the porch, looking worried. "It's toothless," she started when hiccup opened the door. "He wont come near me or take food."
"Where is he?" Hiccup asked.
"He ran off towards the arena."
"Meet me there," hiccup said as he ran off towards the stables.

Ashling sat down on the bed again, looking around. She didn't wanna snoop. She also didn't want to hang around in case something was seriously wrong. And, it occured to her, that she most certainly didn't want June to find her in Hiccup's room. She slowly moved to the doorway and peeked out, frowning. She didn't hear what was said, and had no clue what was going on.

When they found toothless at the arena, he seemed to be in a frenzy about something. Anytime Nova got close he would jump the other way, but he was perfectly okay with Hiccup. "He never did this before," Nova said.
"So what changed?" hiccup wondered. He remembered when they went to the hatching island, toothless acted strangly as well. He shared this information with Nova.
"It has to be something to do with me," Nova mused. "But its not me, sooo.... It has to be Nightlock!"
Hiccup stared at Nova, his mouth slightly ajar. "It has to be what?" He asked.
"My dragon, Nightlock, you know, the nightfury, spawn of lightning and death-"
"Yes, I know what a nightfury is! I didnt know you had given it a name!" Hiccup stopped, trying to process his thoughts. Niva could practically see the gears turning. "So why is Toothless acting ao stangly? I've never seen a dragon react like that before..." He trailed off.
"Sibling rivalry."
"How can you-" Nova cut Hiccup off.
"Its obvious. There aren't that many nightfuries, but obviously Toothless isnt the only one, and they look about the same age. Toothless and Nightlock are brothers."
"So what, Toothless is jealous?"
"I guess. Maybe he doesnt want to show Nightlock that he lost his tail fin and has to rely on a lowly human."
"You think he really feels that way?" Hiccup asked, hurt.
"I'm sure not all the time, I mean, he really loves you. Hes probably just afraid he'll be teased. It wont be a big deal once they meet and stuff. We just have to give them time. And stop this," Nova said, looking at Toothless, who was wildly sniffing the air and turnjng in circles. He attempted to crawl into a terror cage.

Before too long, Ashling became quite bored. She scuffed at the floor in the room with her feet, then laid down on Hiccup's bed, heaving a heavy sigh. She always trusted Hiccup when he said he's be back, and didn't plan on breaking that now.
