Mickey smiled faintly and began walking.

Sydney looked at Marty and felt tears streak down her face, "What's gonna happen to Maddy." She whimpered, her cheeks slick with tears, her nose red.

Sin walked up to Maddy, trying to block her view of the dead man, the man she killed. Her eyes remained in place, they were dry. She couldn't cry if being left alone, only if someone tried to open her up would she cry.

"Look at me." Sin said, she didn't look. Sin decided to keep going. "This isn't your fault, okay. It's my fault. You won't get in trouble, you'll be fine." He tried, rather awkwardly. Maddy didn't look up, just kept her eyes locked in place. Sin sighed and enveloped her in a hug, trying to calm her down.

Scotty finally got her to the car she pulled up in. And he sighed: "Hey... I... I'm really sorry about tonight... I'm not sure how things snowballed so badly.... but I was really excited at the thought of hanging out with you..." he said, giving a small smile.

"Hey.." Marty gently pulled the blong against him in a big hug. "Not-a-d*mn thing. Maddy's gunna be okay, it wasn't her fault it was the police officer's. Why, in Nashville that son of a gun, woulda been in a h*ll of a mess."

Mickey nodded, "Yeah, it's all right. I'll see you later." She said, understanding just how bad the situation was.

"I know...But she would never kill anyone, she's probably so upset." Sydney muttered into Marty's chest, hugging him back.

Maddy's arms hung loosely at her sides, until the sounds of sirens made her rip away from Sin's grasp and try to run. Sin grabbed her wrist, keeping her in place.

"It's ok, Maddy. They aren't going to punish you. You're not in trouble." Sin tired explaining, but it was like explaining something to an animal, she didn't understand.

Scotty smiled softly, he wished he could reply with 'See you later.', but he couldn't. They where supposed to leave for the next state tomorrow. But then again, maybe this incident would keep them in town awhile longer? Maybe he could try again with Mickey. He smiled and gave a nod. "Yeah... I'll talk to you later. " he winked. "...night."

"I think Sin and Katie are-" Marty cut off and jumped a little when he heard sirens.

Mickey was rolling down the street by the time 3 police cars and an ambulance flew into the tiny parking lot. They zipped right to the seen, red lights bouncing off of the hotel, and were all parked and shuffling out of their cars quickly, too fast for Maddy to be calm. The sirens still bellowed in the darkening air, curious hotel-stayers popped their heads out of their doors. 4 cops approached the scene, a hand resting on their guns.

Sin saw their apprehension and snickered, finding it funny that they were fearful of a 15-year-old girl. The cops, though a bit apprehensive, approached the group of kids, while the medics attended to the cop.

One cop, James Cope, a tall man, with a brown mustache and a receding hairline, approached Sin.

"Can you tell us what happened?" He asked, his voice not unkind.

"Yeah." Sin said, he then proceeded to tell the cop his made up story without missing a beat. The cops light blue eyes darkened and he looked down at Maddy. He moved towards her, but the terrified girl scrambled back, so far that she hit the door of her hotel room. Her nostrils flared, eyes wide and glossy with tears.

"Well, we need to take her in, then have a trail to see if you're telling the truth." He said thoughtfully, though he honestly didn't believe that the small girl before him could hurt anything.

"That's not fair! She's innocent! Don't take her in!" Sin yelled, her face reddening.

"Is that really necessary, officer?" Sydney asked politely.

Deputy Cope nodded, "Sorry guys, even if she is innocent and this guy did hurt her, it's man slaughter. Unless you get a good lawyer she could go into the Slammer for up to 5 years." He said, almost sadly.

Maddy shoved her face in her hands, her shoulders shaking violently.

"What?!" Scotty blurted. Walking up just as the cop spoke of Maddy going to jail. "But she's just a kid!"

Katie hurried to Maddy's side. "Hey kiddo, it'll be okay. My uncle doesn't live far from here... He's a lawyer." She said gently, rubbing her back assuring.

"Oh yeah, Randy is a lawyer isn't he?" Marty voiced, only to be ignored. Scotty rolledhis eyes at his friend, though this meant they'd be in town longer. Maybe he could try to see Mickey again.

"It doesn't matter if she's a kid, she killed someone. She's a danger to society." Deputy Cope said, at this Sin went stiff, his breathing hitching. Oh yes, Maddy was such a danger, so terrible and vicious. Maddy kept her face burried in her hands, shaking violently. He couldn't stand it, he exploded.

"Oh, a danger. That's great. You're a danger, you walk around everyday with a pistol strapped to your hip! Who's more of a danger to society, huh? You have all rights to kill someone and not be arrested, and she defends herself and gets sent to juvanile hall! Is that right? Am I understanding this correctly? Seems pretty screwed up now, eh Pig!" Sin spat, smoke practically seeping from his ears.

Deputy Cope was silent, his eyes turning dark, "I'm sorry, but it's the rules. I have to take her in." He said as calmly as he could.

Sydney yelped and ran to Maddy, joining Katie in trying to calm her, and also slightly protecting her, "Y-You can't take her. Please. Don't take her, please." Sydney said, tears brimming her eyes, her nose red.

"You can't really negotiate," Deputy Cope tried gently, "It's the law an-"

"F*** the law!" Sin growled.

A less patient cop, Gary Edwards, stomped up to the group. He pushed past Sin, then Katie and Sydney and spun Maddy around roughly, hand cuffing her hands together.

Maddy's eyes went wide and she screamed, trying to twist out of his grasp. She bucked harshly, yanking back and forth. This only made Gary grip her wrists tighter. Maddy whimpered, her cheeks wet with tears.

"No, I'm sorry, look see. I'm sorry. I'll never hurt anyone again. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Maddy pleaded as they directed her towards a car. "Please, don't take me there. Please, I don't want to, please, please, please." She bawled, resisting him every step of the way.

Sin bunched his muscles, ready to pounce on the cop, except Sydney grabbed his arm, stopping him only for a moment, but long enough for Scotty or Marty to grab him.

Katie watched the scene with a whimper, unable to move, her legs not allowing it.

Marty quickly moved to grab Sin's other arm.

"Madd-" Scotty was cut off by Katie in his attempt to rush in and save the youth. Somehow the lean redhead managed to overpower him.

Sin thrashed, screaming bloody murder. It was like a heart breaking movie, it was unreal. Maddy couldn't get arrested, she was too young, innocent, pure. He could, it was his fault, they should have taken him. As much as Sin hated jail, he was much more cut out for it than Maddy ever would be. He could only imagine what would happen to Maddy there, the horrors she would see. He wouldn't allow it, but Marty was bigger and stronger than him, more solid. Sin couldn't evade him, and he could only watch as those Pigs took his best friend from him, stuffing her into a police car.

Sydney balled her fists, tears streaking down her face, her heart aching. It took every inch of her will power to allow them to take Maddy. She felt like she'd failed everyone, failed Sin for allowing Maddy to be taken from him, failed herself for not looking after Maddy close enough, and failed Maddy for not being there for her. Her shoulders shook and she nearly collapsed to her knees

Maddy flailed violently, until she was stuffed into the car and the door slammed in her face. She didn't stop screaming, she kicked the seat and rammed her feet against the glass. She didn't like this, any of it. She was afraid, something beyond terror, something primordial.

"Give her back!" Sin finally began to sob, trying to wriggle out of Marty's grasp. The car containing Maddy pulled out of the parking lot and drove away, and that was that. Deputy Cope stuck around, trying to give Katie information of the trail.

Marty released Sin once the car was gone, he then stepped quickly away from his reach. The sandy blonde watched the car go quietly away. He then noticed Sydney and rushed to comfort her, gently placing a hand on her shoulder as he asked "Syd...?"

Katie still fought to hold back Scotty. She knew how he was, he'd taken to Tennessee's rebel pride all too well. He'd chase down that car if he had to. He was a runner, he might've even been able to catch the car: but what good would it do. Scotty was too good with kids, they loved him, he was like a big brother to some of the freshmen they knew from school. Katie nodded at the Deputy. "Thank you-" she grunted abd held tightly to Scotty: who cursed her. "Thanks officer.."

Sydney turned to Marty, looking at the ground and crying. She was such a failure. The girl pressed herself against Marty, pressing her ear against his chest.

"I let her down..." She croaked.

Deputy Cope nodded and walked to his car, driving off quickly. They would have to question the girl when she got back to base.

As soon as Marty had let sin go, he was running after that car like a bat out of hell. He pumped his arms, going off in the direction where the car had gone. His throat burnt with the passing seconds, he never caught up with the car. Sin still ran, trying to fallow the other police cars back to the station, but what would he do then? He couldn't break her out. Sin stopped running, walking quickly, then finally coming to a stop. He looked down the road, shaking violently.

Marty blinked and wrapped his arms around Sydney. "Hey, no you didn't... we couldn't do anything. We didn't know what'd happen..." Marty murmured hugging her gently. "We'll get Katie's uncle... he's a good lawyer.... he'll help us get Maddy back.

Scotty finally stopped fighting Katie. Starring out infront of him blankly with clenched fists.

"But I was supposed to watch out for her, and I wasn't there to stop her, or to help her." Sydney cried, wiping her face her her sleeve.

Maddy was a caged animal, terrified, but also a bit dangerous. The ride to the police station was silent, except for Maddy's quiet sobs and sniffles. The sharp hand cuffs dug into her wrists, indenting the soft skin on the inside of her arm. Eventually, they pulled into a parking lot. The violent cop who'd grabbed her shuffled out of the car and walked around to her side. He opened the door, but Maddy didn't move. She looked at him with a hard expression, now a little angry that they were taking her in.

"Oh, come on." The violent one growled, grabbing her by the arm and yanking her out roughly. Maddy yelped, stumbling but catching herself. Him and his partner lead her into a building, it was one story high with off-white walls. It wasn't impressive, and didn't strike that much fear into Maddy's heart, until they went inside, that is.

The inside stench greeted her first, bone marrow and bleach. She would have stumbled back if not for the forceful hand pushing her along. The second thing to greet her was the silence, it was horribly silent in that building. Other than a few people whispering and the hum of the AC, everything was mute. Maddy paused, taking a visual in, scary looking men and women sat handcuffed in chairs while police officers talked to them or did paper work. Every few minuets someone would be taken into a hall, never to be seen by Maddy again.

The image of a pound for mute dogs came to Maddy's abstract and bustling mind as she was sat down. The violent one barked at her to stay put, and she looked nervously towards the door, wondering if she could run.

"No... but you wanted time to yourself.. MAddy would get that. And she'd also be happy fer' you... C'mon Syd: don't cry anymore.. we'll get her.." Marty tried to sooth.

Scotty looked at the concrete then at Katie who he quickly grabbed by the arms, making her yelp loudly. "You. You and me. We're going."

Katie looked at him with a blank face before quietly speaking. "...what?..."

"We. Are. Going. To. See. Maddy!" Scotty hissed so only the redhead could hear.

"Has Marty been smoking? Have you been smok-"

"-I'm not high!" he snapped quietly. "We have to see her-"

"-Why us?! NO offense but we don't know her that well.

"Just agree to come with me!" he snapped. "By the time we walk down their she'll been done with questioning!" he kept the conversation between them

After a pause there was an "Okay.." from Katie.

"Sin would want to see her also, he's probably all ready on his way over." Sydney muttered, "I want to see her, also." Syndey said.

Meanwhile, Sin was making his way to the police station.

Maddy was finally lead into a small room with a double sides window, she looked into it and found her reflextion. Maddy cringed and looked down at the table, wishing for Sin, Sydney, Katie, Scottie, or Marty. A familiar face at least, someone. She took a shaky breath, feeling her eyes well up again.

Two men entered the room, one looking meaner than the other. The nice looking one sat, and the meaner looking one stood in the corner. Maddys tortured gulp was audible.

"Hi sweety, you've had some day, huh?" He asked.

"I didn't mean to kill him, I didn't, I didn't." Maddy croaked, a few tears slipping from her eyes.

The cop in the chair nodded, "Can you tell me what happened?" he asked in a kind voice.

"I don't remember..." Maddy muttered, trying to remember the details, it all happened so fast. All she remembered was pain and screaming.

"Try." he asked.

Maddy then tried her best to tell them her police brutality story, though it was shaky and she didn't know how to explain it.

"You're lying." the cop in the corner piped.

"What..?" Maddy asked, she couldn't tell if she was lying any more either.

"How could you kill an armed officer?" He growled.

"I was scared.." Maddy tried.
