Ian was still and silent in the tree above Kat, Waiting for the right moment to swoop in.

They all laughed, which only made Kat fuleustrated. The soldier walked towards her and grabbed her arm. Kat yelped and sliced him across the throat in a panic. The man fell dead almost instantly. Everyone went silent.

Ian watched. Maybe Kat wouldn't need his help after all?

Kat, realizing her new power, flashed her knife nervously. They all growled and bristled and hopped off of heir horses. Kat yelped, ducking away from their blows and slicing blindly at whatever flesh crossed her.

Ian watched Kat go, slightly impressed, and leaned against the trunk of the tree, still covered by the leaves.

By the end of it, they were all dead. Kat panted, her arms shaking, heart thudding. She wasn't a killer, his was all new. She'd achieve a few Knicks and cuts and bruises, but other than that he was completely fine. Kat frowned checking them for money and food, which thu had plenty of. She stiffed the goods in her satchel then lathered the blood on her hands.
"you'd think the kingdom would offe better knights." Kat complained, seeing as it was rather easy to defend herself.

"They sent their least favorable, seeing as they figured I'd be here." Ian commented, hopping down from the tree. "Well done."

"Learned from the best." she complimented. But complimenting Ian was like stroking a cat, you'd either get him to purr, or he'd turn and lacerated you.

Ian narrowed his eyes, unsure of how to take the compliment. He settled on shrugging, and looked around at the bodies.

Kat looked at the bodies, too. "What do we do with them?" sh asked.

"Leave'em for the wolves." Ian replied, knowing there'd be more out there.

Kat nodded, taking one of their horses. "Today could be the day.. That we see the dragon." she mused, mounting the horse.

Ian nodded, packing away the food they'd collected, and hopped on one of their horses as well.

By the end of the day, they'd reached the peak. Kat clenched her teeth. Pausing, if the dragon wasn't here...

Ian followed curiously, seeing Kat's hesitation.
"This here?"
