Tristan started off in that direction

Tristan smiled at her, his paws silent on the soft forest floor.

He smiled, his face lighting up. He licked her back, his eyes shining with deep affection.

He grinned wider. He pricked his ears as he smelled an unfamiliar scent. "Uh...." he said. "This is bad," his ears laid back as he smelled the gun smoke, and heard the crashing sounds of branches snapping.

Tristan stepped out from behind Kat quickly, wanting to protect her, instead of the other way around. Hew stepped up beside her, his teeth bared. His front paws wre spalyed apart, his muscles tensed. He growled low in his throat as the hunters amerged.

Tristan felt KAt lock up beside him. He lowered his head, thyen charged as the humans ahnd closed on the trigger. he bowled him over, snapping at the other humans who tried to grab at him. He leapt away from them, then nudged Kat, trying to amake her run. "Come on Kat!" he cried, growling again at the humans, who had reorganized themselves.
