OOC: Sorry I've been gone sooo Long... Sucks that I cant go on the computer during days that have school nights
Gladepaw came into the Medicine Cat's Den where Frostpaw, Tigerpaw and Willowtail were all crammed into the narrow space.
"Willowtail! Come quick!!" She gasped, her eyes were wide and her chest heaving with the effort to control her breathing.
"It's Winterclaw! He can't stop throwing up! And he's been violently shaking all morning, I think he's got a fever or something as well! No ones dared come into the den, the stench of sickness reeks even from the den entrance! And he's in the back!" She mewed rapidly, she wanted to get moving quickly. Her mentor was sick, perhaps his torn ear was already infected by the time he got back to camp, and a bad infection had creeped into his blood causing the terrible sickness he had now. "Please hurry! Come quick!" She hissed hurriedly, her eyes almost bulged.
Winterclaw wasn't her mentor but he had a tie to RiverClan, Whisperstar his sister was a close friend, and previous mentor, to Gladepaw's mother Shadowfire. And without Winterclaw to keep her company she would no longer have a
fellow companion who felt the hurt that tore at her very being as she peered over the river at the marshes that screamed,' Home'.
Sure Tigerpaw had ties in ShadowClan, but like every other cat she too had hated that clan with a burning passion. That was no where near anything that had tugged at her pelt, the river... the vast watery wonderland that seemed to be like a paradise, just out of reach. RiverClan... That was where she wanted to be right now. Safe on that island camp, surrounded by water just shallow enough to wade through, where plump formidable fighters and smart, swift hunters waited to greet their clan mates and defend against an onslaught of enemies.
But could she truly leave ThunderClan for the life she yearned to have? Leave all her memories, her friends?! Behind for the warmth, compassion and acceptance that was sure to greet her beyond the reeds and thorns that covered the walls of their camp. Could she leave Frostpaw?...
This was why she needed Winterclaw to strive, for her to have a definant reason to hold on to her clan, to stay true knowing she was not alone in the unbearable strife of living torn between two clans!
Whisperstar entered the glimmering camp clearing, the sky was pale pinks and oranges. And the sun could be seen making it's way over the horizon, Morning had come and she was ready to fetch her apprentice for their training. The morning had already left and come back, mouths full of fat prey and borders remarked and searched for signs of trespassers or possible clan attacks. All was safe, serene even.
Her mind was now on Yarrowtail, while at the same devising the plan for todays training. Would Yarrowtail decide to talk with her today and go on and on with the rediculous, young play. Or would he decide to be calm, and simply chat while she drilled Swiftpaw with the running around the small woodlands that ventured from the ThunderClan border near the small river that drove into a waterfall and a steep gorge, sure to kill any, near the WindClan Border.
Shadowfire still slept, her mind solely on her daughter. Gladepaw, she had grown greatly since the last gathering, her silver pelt sleeker. The true pelt of any RiverClan cat, her luminous eyes deeper and more focused, calm like Shadowfire's mother's. Shadowfire sighed in her mind, her daughter was sure to succeed in all she attempted. She had powerful genetics and surely supportive friends, her lithe, quick legs where great for running and quick reflexes, A talent passed down from Shadowfire's mother. And her powerful shoulders and determined mind, given to even Shadowfire by Shadowfire's father. Shadowclaw the ambitious, and dreadfully powerful deputy of ShadowClan who once had shown compassion and love towards others but had turned cold by killing the rouges who murdered his loved-one. His pain turned worse by the harshness of the world around him and the sad reminder of Firestream, Shadowfire's mother, in the looks of Shadowfire's kit. Gladepaw, she wasn't blessed with the fiery orange pelt of Firestream but with the silver and black pelt of Winterclaw's and Shadowfire's.
(Yep! Shadowfire and Winterclaw use to be mates! Gladepaw doesn't even know her own father is sick and stuff

I love unexpected twists!)
