Atticus smirked though he was happy on the inside, he remained cool outside. "Great, another night with a beautiful girl." he said playfully.

"Got that right, babe." Heather teased, washing the dishes and stretching.

Atticus laughed and looked over at Nate. The boy sat infront of Scout, his journal in his lap, on the page was a drawing of the dog. Like something from the hand of a professional, not a bored boy.

"Nate?" Atticus asked, both Nate and Scout looked up at him. Atticus sighed "Do you wanna stay here? In the upstairs bedroom?" In the apartment there was a set of stairs which swirled up, into a small but modern bedroom suite.

Nate grinned "Really, Attie?!"

"Yeah..." he sighed.

Nate grinned and stood up, "C'mon scout!" he exclaimed turning and darting up the stairs, with Scout at his heels. Atticus rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"That was sweet." Heather cooed, walking over to Atticus and hugging him tightly.

Atticus chuckled and wrapped his arms around her, kissing the top of her head and rubbing her back. "He'll be asleep in no time..." Atticus smirked.

"Can't believe I'm gonna be a mom soon." Heather mused, with a huge smile on her face.

Atticus laughed, "I bet he can't believe, he's gonna have a mom soon." he said with a grin.

"Yeah, he's a cool kid." Heather said, feeling safe in Atticus's arms.

Atticus nodded, "He's not as bad as he tries to be...", he just wanted to hold Heather close, and not be bothered by the rest of the world, especially not Ghost.

"I have work tommarow, so i'm going to have to file those adoption papers today.." Heather thought aloud.

"Could you fill them out after work? It's starting to get dark." he asked. Though it wasn't late, it was getting dark faster now-a-days.

"I guess." Heather said, seeing as it was slightly dark.

Atticus smiled and nodded. He couldn't understand it, he'd never been in love before. He hoped he was now... No, he knew he was now. He knew within every fiber of his being, that he loved Heather. He would be willing to do anything for her, the incident with Tommy had made him realize that, he would give up his life if it meant protecting Heather. He smirked mischievously, "Ya know Heather? I dunno what I'd do if I had let you storm out of Starbucks, the day you found out I was a cop. I dunno if I could live with out you..." he whispered, as he kissed her neck, and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her against him.

Heather grinned and kissed the side of his head, "I'm glad you didn't let me storm out of you're life, babe. I glad." She cooed.

*Fades to black..*

Hours later, Atticus laid next to Heather in the faint morning light. He held her in his arms, close to his bare chest. He sighed contently and looked down at Heather.
