"I'm...Ashante." Ashante gasped. He looked at the lions all around. For some reason, it made him feel warm under their gazes. "Where...am I? mom...? Dad....?"

"The poor thing lost his parents...'' Adanna said quietly, "Well kid you are in the Mountain Pride.'' Ujasiri said then looked at his other brothers who were just arriving back from patrolling the borders.

Faraji, the oldest, lifted his eyebrows. "What have we here?" he asked. "This poor cub was attacked, and seems to have lost his parents, son." Enzi explained. Hirizi nodded. "Well, what can we do for him?"

Furaha looked at the cub,"Well we can't just leave him alone and let him die!'' Furaha said feeling protective of the bright orange cub.

"Furaha is right,'' Ujasiri said.

Adanna just smiled and came close to the bright orange cub and nuzzled him."Don't worry little one we will take good care of you. Do you know where you came from?'' She asked.

"The...Pridelands." Ashante stammered, feeling weak.

"Pridelands, huh?" Hirizi asked. "Do you know Simba and Kovu?"

"Yes, I do." Ashante replied. "Why?"

"Kovu is my brother." Enzi calmly replied.

"I've heard many stories from my grandfather Malka.'' Furaha said. 'Who are your parents kid?'' Ujasiri asked sitting close to his father Enzi who almost looked like him but the only difference is that he had a blaze which he inretted from his mother Adanna.

Adanna soon whispered into Enzi's ear which made him realise that their children need to leave so they could talk to the cub privately.

Enzi nodded. He flicked his tail at his children as a sign for them to leave. Njozi nodded at her siblings and they left.

"Well, my parents are Kefir and Adia." Ashante said.

"When Njozi and Furaha found you, we wanted to know what happened to you?'' Asked Adanna.

"Well, I sneaked out of home in the morning." Ashante explained. "I wanted to be on my own for a little while. I went to the water-hole, and these hyenas came, and the next thing I remember is waking up here."

"Well it's good that your ok.'' Adanna smiled.

Penda growled, "Leave me alone.....'' She said then took off running towards the waterhole. Tears streaming from her face.

Adia then looked at Kefir,"I know she would take it the hard way....''

Kefir put his head down. "It is really all my fault. I've failed."

"No you didn't....'' Adia looked at Zuberi then asked,"Zuberi would you go and see how your sister is?'' She asked in a sad tone.

Kamaria looked at Kefir,"Don't be hard on yourself I'm sure if he was hurt or not he would probably come back.

"Kefir and Adia?'' Asked Adanna but then saw the bright orange cub looked tired.

Kefir sighed. "But, I saw it with my own eyes. He was lying in a puddle of blood."

Enzi cleared his throat. He put his tail in front of his mate. "I think we should let him rest for tonight, Adanna. The poor cub's had a very long day."

"It might not be his blood though...it might be someone else's blood.'' Kamaria said nuzzling her brother then her friend Adia.

"I think he should staywith us until he's ready to leave as an adult or teen.'' Adanna whispered silenty as the bright orange cub slept.

"But then how do you explain his motionless body? He didn't even move when we tried a lot." Kefir said, distraught.

"I believe you're right, Adanna." Enzi said. "We can have Endesha give him his proper training and let all our cubs be his friends. The poor cub's going to be the only cub in the pride, for now."
