Kuilak took an arrow from his quiver and poked a hole in the icy dome. "Nope," he said in response to Gale's question.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Breathed Setsuko, trying to regain her balance. "Though if Misaki hadn't been doing so much of it..." She smiled proudly at her daughter. Misaki blushed at the unexpected attention.

As soon as Setsuko was recovered, Kuilak walked over and handed Li back to her. The infant was still confused and scared. Setsuko hugged him closely, reassuring her son that they would be fine, though she seemed to be convincing herself as well. Kuilak put a warm hand on Li's head and the other around Setsuko, comforting them. Jaci walked over slowly, Yuumi riding on his back. Kya followed.

Maddy winced as Kuilak poked a hole in their shelter, half-expecting it to crack. She was relieved it didn't.

Tariq held Tess in his arms still, even though they were beginning to ache a little. She held to his neck, pressing her face into his shirt for some sense of familiarty.

"S...s...so wh...what do we d...do now?" Kanna stuttered nervously, eyes darting around.

"We could play a game," Maddy suggested, wanting to lighten up the atmosphere.

Sumi grunted. "Tuh! Like we need a game!" Setsuko shot a warning glance at him. He groaned. "Sorry. But I seriously don't think a game is the answer right now." Next to him, Misaki shivered. "When's it gonna stop storming?" She asked.

Maddy huffed in annoyance at Sumi's first statement, crossing her arms. She let them fall to her sides when he had finished speaking.

"Soon?" Tess suggested. "I hope so," she added. Tariq set her down, and she stood close to him, afraid to leave the comfort of his presence.

"Me too, Tess," Kya agreed sullenly, "Me, too." "Well, someone could always go check," Kanna suggested tentatively.

"Maybe Sumi should," Maddy suggested, still slightly annoyed with him.

"I don't think anyone should go out right now," Gale said.

"What? Why me?" Sumi snapped.

"No reason to get all grumpy," Maddy said, crossing her arms again.

"Ok, stop arguing!" Ordered Setsuko. "We're all just a a bit tired, scared, and cranky. The least we could do is try not to fight!"

Maddy fell silent, letting her gaze fall to stare at the wet ground.

A moment of tension-filled silence followed. Kuilak finally spoke up. "Erm...so, anyone have any good stories?" He asked a bit awkwardly, trying to lighten the mood.

"Tell about when you found a snake," Tess said, turning her gaze to Gale.

"Erm..." Gale said, suddenly feeling a bit shy and awkward.

"Go on," Kya prompted, seeing Gale nervous. She, nor any of her siblings, knew what a snake was, but they were sure the story was worth hearing.
