Rue rammed into the floor, wincing as she made ocntact with the hard wood. "I don't know!" Rue said,her brown eyes wide with adrenaline that accompanied her now racing heart, surprise coursing through her. "Maybe an earthquake," she said, remembering the small one she had once been in. Nothing like this though. As another jolt shook the ground, she grabbed onto the beaten up and shabby sofa, trying to steady herself on the bucking ground.

"An earthquake??" Setsuko screamed. "But that could knock the cabin down! Oh, crap..." She tried to stand, but another wave pulsed through the ground. "Quick, get under the doorway!" Setsuko commanded, inching over there. "Then it'll be less likely for something to fall on you!" Jaci followed Setsuko, crawling under the worn-down arch, where the door was swung wide open.

Rue let go of the sofa, immediatly shaken even more as she parted. She struggled to inch over to the doorway, moving, then collapsing. She pulled herself on the floor, dragging her body with her arms, her wings pressed tighhtly her back. NOo use having more limbs out then usual, more likely she would get hit that way. She made the last bit of length, disoriented and slightly bruised.

Setsuko's breath came rapidly as the earth shook violently. She shut her eyes tightly, scared of the slightest shake. She tightened her grip on her staff for the sake of having something to hold on to.

Rue pressed herself against the wooden floor, the grain of the wood rough against her hands. She kept her brown eyes open, staring around fearfully, the ground shaking violently. Was it even possible for them to be this bad? Her dark hair fell over her face, obscuring her view, but she made no move to move it, still pressing against the floor as hard as possible, trying no to be shaken to much. Suddenly, she had a thought. If this was an earthquake, then maybe they could fly above the ground.

"Setsuko!" Rue said. "We need to fly!" she said.

Setsuko's expression brightened. Why hadn't she though of that. "Rue, you're a genius!" She exclaimed. She twirled open her glider. "Jaci, climb....fast!" She instructed before another great rumble struck. She took off and Jaci bolted up the nearest tree, jumping off and landing on Setsuko's glider as swiftly as possible.

Rue crawled out of the cabin, struggling to stand up. She let out a small, frusterated breath as she was shaken to the ground again. She then stood up for only a moment, then jumped quickly, her wings beating and her world suddenly steadying.

Setsuko's breathing slowed to a more steady pattern, though adrenaline still rushed through her veins as the flew. "That was pretty scary," She breathed, glancing at the shaking earth below.

Rue nodded breathlessly. "Tell me about it," she agreed. "I do not want to go through that again."

"Tuh, no kidding." Setsuko glanced up again, away from the moving earth below her. "When do you think it will stop?" She asked curiously.

"I don't know," Rue said. "I wish I did. But I've only been in one once before, and it was only a small shake. Nothing big like this," she said.

"We hardly ever get earthquakes back at home, and my cousin is and Earthbender so on the rare occasion that she has one, she can stop it."

"If only she was here now," Rue said wistfully.

"If only!" Setsuko agreed. Glancing down at the ground below, she noticed that the shaking was no longer so violent. "Hey...I think it's almost over," She pointed out, turning back towards the cabin. Even if it had been destroyed or if the earthquake was not yet over, neither of which she was sure of, it couldn't hut to go back and check.

Rue looked closely at the ground. SUre enough, the racking tremors were slowing and were no longer as violent. "Let's wait a while more, then go back down. ANother one could be coming." she said.
