Cassie nodded and looked down saddly, so distracted that she barely noticed her hand in his. She had hoped that Curtis was right, even though she had vowed not to get high on false hopes. She half expected Zane to admit he had gotten her the rose, but if he didn't admit at that moment, it probably wasn't true. "Let's go get that coffee," she said, her voice not as cheery as before.

Cassie smiled up at Zane. There was that false hope again. But she accepted it this time. At least she would know the truth about the flower. "Sounds good," she said happily with a small giggle.

Cassie smiled at Zane's quickness. She eagerly followed him back to her room and closed the door behind them when they got there. She turned to him expectently.
