"Only snowstorms have snow. This is a thunderstorm, so it pours water instead," Gale explained.

"Weewy?" Asked Yuumi in awe. He had never seen a storm other than one full of snow.

"Really," Maddy confirmed, after taking a moment to figure out what 'weewy' meant.

"'oah," Yuumi replied, looking at Maddy with wide eyes, then turning to his mother as if for further confirmation. Setsuko nodded. "It's true," she said. "In warmer places like this, rain falls down, not snow."

"When will the storm be over?Tss asked, tugging on Rue's sleeve.

Rue shrugged. "I don't know. It could be hours."

"Or just minutes," Kuilak added, connecting it to snowstorms. Some of them lasted less than a minutes, while others kept up a few hours, and some even days. But another crash of thunder proved him wrong. This storm was likely to continue for quite a while.

"Probably not," Gale muttered.

Misaki winced. Gale was probably right, the storm would continue a long time. The cabin was momentarily silent, other than the sounds of the storm outside. "Is it really good to be in an old cabin during such a bad storm?" Sumi asked, an edge to his voice. Setsuko glanced at her son, then around the darkened room. He was right; this probably wasn't the best place to be at this time. But what else could they do? "Better than being out there," Kuilak answered, echoing Setsuko's thoughts.

Tess hadn't thought about how old the cabin probably was until then. THe thought that the storm could destroy it or something made a chill go down her spine, and she shivered, wrapping her arms around herself and sidling up to Maddy, longing for comfort.

Maddy obliged, putting her arms around her younger sister, longing for comfort herself.

A crack sounded. Setsuko and Kuilak gasped; Sumi started shivering with nervousness. Li cried in fear. Kya and Kanna whiped around towards the sound and Misaki almost tripped over Yuumi. The cracking sound had come from one of the cabin walls...uh oh. Another loud crack struck and a bit of rainwater surged into the cabin. The storm was forcing a hole in the wall.

ooc--I decided something bad had to happen. After all, if what we discussed about Ayumu's world is coming true...

Rue stared at the cracking wall blankly for a few seconds, before her brain started to function again. A scream cut through the air, given by the pale, shaking Tess. Maddy was in no better shape, and even Gale looked fearful. Tariq moved to hold Tess, obviously worried, but trying not to show it for the sake of the younger kids. "We need something to fix it, or a different shelter!" Rue said, moving to Setsuko so the bi-bender could hear her.

Another terrifying crack pulsed through the air. Li was shaking and crying, and so was Yuumi, for that matter. Misaki screamed and Kanna was left panicking. Kya stared around, her eyes wide and wild with sickening fear. Suddenly, a strip of wood was torn from the old wall, followed in turn by two more. Sumi gasped. "Oh, no," He muttered, "Oh, no, no, no...."

Rue immediatly raised her voice to be heard over screams, thunder, and the sound of breaking wood. "Everybody get out of the house!" Considering how forceful the storm was in tearing the wall down, splinters and smaller things were soon going to fly around. It would be safer outside, where possible sheltr might be avaliable. Shelter that wasn't being torn apart.

Jaci grabbed Yuumi by his shirt and bolted out of the breaking cabin. Kya and Sumi followed promptly. Misaki ran as fast as she could, then turned. "Mama!" She yelled. "Papa! Come on!" "Go, Misaki!" Setsuko called back. "We're coming!" Misaki hesitated a moment, but Kanna grabbed her arm. "You heard Mama! Let's go!" She urged, pulling her sister out with her. Setsuko took a moment to scoop up Li and grab the baby-pouch real quick, then burst out the door, Kuilak right behind her. As soon as the roof was gone above her, her clothes were soaked through. Li whined and cried, adding his tears to the liquid. Yuumi was sitting on the ground, crying and shivering and sopping wet. He looked up pitifully. Kya lifted him up and put him on Jaci's back...at least he wouldn't be getting all muddy. But being dirty was the least of the problems right now. Sumi grunted, trying to use his glider as an umbrella. "Misaki," he muttered, "Right now would be a really good time for some Waterbending..." "Uh...right," Said Misaki, her voice shaking. She tried to create a dome like she had before, but bigger. Unfortunately, she was young and not exactly advanced. Such a big dome against this storm would be really hard to do. She managed to cover everyone, including Rue's family, though it leaked in a few places. Still, better than being in the pouring rain. Then Setsuko had idea. She handed Li to Kuilak. Walking up to Misaki, Setsuko took a slow, deep inhale. She exhaled and brought her arms up, helping her daughter bend. Slowly but surely, they managed to create a dome that completely surround the group, top to bottom. Carefully, without loosing her concentration, Setsuko turned slightly in Misaki's direction. "Freeze it!" She ordered. Already there where a few slivers of ice along the dome. Misaki did the rest. They were now surrounded by a huge dome of not water, but ice, much like an igloo. Setsuko sighed with relief and fell to her knees, a bit dizzy. Kya and Sumi raced over to support her.

"Are you alright?" Rue asked, helping lift her to her feet. She knew bending could take alot out of Setsuko, a lesson learned when she had fainted in the previous visit to Ayumu's world.

Tess shivered, clinging to Tariq as if for her life. "Will we be safe here?" she asked, imagining the ice breaking.
Maddy had been glad of the shelter, and how it dulled the noise of the storm, until Tess spoke. IMmeditly, she was filled with that worry too, and she took hold or her father's hand, holding on to it tightly.

"Won't we use up all the air?" Gale asked, pushing a lock of wet hair away from his eyes.
