Jenna nodded gently, nuzzling her nose into Balto's. "I suppose it is."
Kai seemed to visibly calm down. "Good." he sighed, trying to regain his composure.
Tai whined, a few tears running down her cheeks from the final shot. Her forepaws wrapped around Rob gently.
Charlie nodded, and placed the needle into Lena's neck and quickly injected, then bandaged the spot after the needle was taken out. He held Lena gently. "It wasn't so bad was it?"
Kodi's ears fell as he saw his son's hemophobia show itself. Seeing blood always made him sick.

Balto nodded. "You're the best thing that ever happened to me." he said. "If I hadn't met you, I wouldn't of met Rosy. Without both of you, I might of just set by that night because I wouldn't of had a reason to be a hero, no one else in town had ever given me any reason to be but you did, you gave me a strength to prove them all wrong." he said. "And Rosy gave me a reason to, then you gave me six wonderful pups, a family I always wanted."
Cachen sighed. "Papa, are you ashamed of me for being this way? I can't help how I get around blood."
Fang nodded. "Yeah, its just a little prick and it doesn't stay in like a porcupine's quils." he said.
Rob returned the pups hug and wiped her tears. "Don't worry Tai, no more shots." he said. "Now want to help me give your brother his injections?"
Lena had tears as well, she hugged her owner as well.

Jenna smiled, looking off to the side for a brief moment at the mention of their pups. "Well what can I say?" she grinned playfully and dismissed the thought.
Kodi looked surprised his son would ask such a question. "Cachen, you can't help what happens. I and your Mother have always worried...but we will never be ashamed of you or your brother or you sisters." he nuzzled his youngest son gently.
Tai sniffed lightly, giving a bit of a nod as Rob brused her tears away.
Charlie smiled, rubbing Lena's fuzzy white cheek as he pulled away. "I know. No more, I promise." he did though get another syringe, filling it with the same liquid. "Two more to go." he murmured.
Kai nodded, another shiver riveting through silver fur. He turn red in the face however at the memory of that porcupine.

Balto nodded. "That was one of the happiest days of my life when they were born, our pups have made me very proud." he said.
"Thank you papa." said Cachen, licking his papa's nose.
"Good girl." said Rob, filling a syringe and taking Tai over to Kai. "Hi little guy, time for your shots, it won't be very bad." he said.
Fang chuckled. "As long as you're not afriad, it will be fine, being afraid makes you think its going to hurt like fire but its more like a little prick than anything else."
Lena nodded but went over to Tai. "Tai, you should go with Cachen, he trusts you more, you can help him stay calm." she said, then looked to Rob and motioned for him to do Cachen rather that Kai, Rob chuckled and took Tai over to Cachen while Lena waited for her owner.

"so you really were happy when you them then.." said Jenna, trying to relax before they had to go. She was glad for a moment.
Kodi smiled, rubbing Cachen's head. "Your welcome, son." he said with a innermost pride in his son.
Tai nodded, looking to Rob and then back to Lena, grabbing her sister's necklace and half dragged her to Kai. She almost seemed to laugh.
Kai nodded, giving a slight gulp before letting his visible muscle relax.
Charlie smiled, kneeling in front of Cachen, holding his leg gently. "Don't worry little guy." he said. "This won't hurt for long. I promise." he would keep his voice level and calm.

Balto nodded. "They made me happy, just like their mother." said Balto, nuzzling Jenna.
Cachen whimppered, seeing the needle. He closed his eyes tight and buried his face in Kodi's chest, not wanting to see blood. His legs were still were they could be injected.
Fang chuckled. "Don't worry little buddy." he said.
Rob lifted Kai's leg and slipped the needle in gentally before injecting the medicine and removing it. He cleaned the spot and moved to the next leg, repeating it. "Alright little guy hold still, I have to be careful with the last one."
Lena nuzzled Kai to keep her brother relaxed.

Tai went over to cachen, nuzzling him in a sweet sisterly fashion. "Don't worry Cachen, it doesn't hurt too much." she tried to reassure him.
Kai stood perfectly still, watching the syringe and knowing where it would go. "Okay..." he murmured as if Rob could hear him. he was relaxed by his sister's reassurance.
"Well hey," Jenna chuckled. "They made me happy too. But you make me even happier." she gave a soft laugh, muscles relaxing and shoulder poressing against her mate's.
Charlie quickly injected both syringes into either leg, seeing the apprehension. "Alright, stay still now." he said, holding the side of Cachen's neck for balance.

Cachen whimpered and nuzzled his sister for comfort he held very still, mostly from fear.
Fang watched Kai. "Glad I don't need those anymore." he said.
Rob quickly injected the last one into Kai's throat. He bandaged the injection point. "There you go, all done, now did that hurt that bad?" he asked, petting Kai's head softly.
"Well did it bro?" asked Lena.
"Glad to hear it." said Balto. "And our grandkids make us happy too right?"

Kodi blinked. "We all do, Fang, we all do." he said with a gentle shudder.
Kai gulped, looking to Lena with a curious face. "Well did what?" he asked.
Tai smiled, licking Cachen's cheek tenderly. "It's okay bro."

Balto nodded. "Well we should be leaving soon, everyone stretch so you don't pull a muscle." he said and stretched himself.
Cachen whimmpered but understood most of it was in his mind. "It really did[n't hurt did it?" he asked then heard his grandfather. He stretched his legs as he was asked.
Fang nodded. "But it is helpful." he said and stretched himself.
"The shots." said Lena, matter of factly. She heard Balto. "You heard grandpa." she said and stretched.
"Well they're all set." said Rob. "Now Tai, be good and run as fast as you can." he said, hugging his dog. He turned and got Mr. Samson. "Alright, the dogs already, good luck Mr. Samson." he said. "Start when you're ready." he said and turned to Charlie. "I feel like one of us needs to give a speech or something."

Tai shook her head, beginning to stretch as well. "no, not really. I tihnk it's because we were all tense at the final shot." she nodded to Rob with a large doggish smile
Jenna nodded, stretching her own legs. "You've got an entire routine down don'tcha?" she smiled.
Kodi nodde.d 'You have a point there." he arched his back downward.
Kai nodded. "It hurt a little bit, but we took it way too hard." he said
Charlie grinned. "Then go ahead." he joked and extened an arm forward.

Jenna thought a moment. 'Well I would think so." she smiled lightly, before looking ahead of her. They were really going to do this?
Tai laughed, cracking her legs a few times. "I'd rather not tihnk about that." she grinned.
Kodi looked up, blinking in astonishment. "You did??" he was surprised.
Charlie coughed. "So then..." he said softly, trying to postpone the moment.
Kai nodded, rolling his shoulders. "Of cours,e of course." he murmured.

"We're going to do this and save the town." said Balto. "We're heroes, we can't lose."
Cachen nodded. "Yeah, thats a good point." he said. "Remember when Kai got skunked that one time and we all had to stay in the same den?"
Fang nodded. "I had to wonder the wilderness for a few months after the unforchent events with my dad. I ended up staying with her pack for a while, I guess her dad was soft on me cause when he met me, I was a pup." he said. "But me and Katie both knew we'd never be anymore than friends, close friends but nothing more than that." he said. "I left for Nome after I'd gotton my strength back, then we met...remember when we met? We were little pups."
"We don't have to do a speech but it might help get their spirits up." said Rob.
Lena chuckled. "You're funny bro."

Kodi laughed for a moment. "So you guys never tried to become more than friends?" he winked "That didn't stop me, did it?" he was still astounded though; how come Katie never told him?! "Yea," he looked up for a brief moment. "I remember.."
Tai laughed, putting a paw to her nose. "I can still smell it now!" she exclaimed, shaking her head.
Jenna smiled, looking to Balto with a chuckle. "You're right, we can't lose."
Charlie coughed, and managed to get everyone's attention. He was at a loss of words until he looked at Lena, so determined. A smile spread over his features and he began to speak:
"Today, no dogs are in Nome's streets. But soon, we'll have them back! It takes true courage to make such a long trip, and I have the utmost confidnece in these dogs right here!"
Kai grinned. "Gee, thanks" he said sarcastically.
