Balto Special Edition DVD Petition

One thing is clear now : Universal will never go back to Balto to make sequels, TV series, or any other kind of product.

The reason? With "Despicable Me" and "Hop" making HUGE profits, they just won't care anymore for licences that never brought them as much.

Still, with the recent releases of "All Dogs Go To Heaven" and "Secret of NIMH" on Bluray, we could hope that Universal would do the same. Such releases surely doesn't cost them much!

So, even if we didn't get an answer last time, don't you think it could be the *right* time to let them know there is money to make?

Maybe we should re-send them the petition!

I won't be holding my breath but this gives me hope for Balto on Blu-Ray. I won't be expecting any high-end remastering like the recent Disney Renaissance re-releases. I kinda like the way it looks already actually, picture quality wise. DTSHD-MA on Balto though - hooo man.

I think it definitely couldn't hurt to let them know we want a blu-ray release.

I would love to have balto in bluray, (after we get an hdtv, dvd looks so bad in it... hehehe)

A special edition DVD and/or Blu-Ray would be nice. I already have it on DVD, so I don't know if I'd buy it or not.
If the special features are worth it, I might. Or if I get a Blu-Ray player I would get it on Blu-Ray.

How much does it cost? I WILL get it! All I have on Balto at home is this DVD that shares some room with An American Tail, and Land Before Time. It's supposed to be a FAMILY CLASSICS ALL IN 2 DVDS kinda thing... I don't have a Balto DVD all on it's own is what i'm trying to say...
Oh, And I'd really Love special features, I mean SPECIAL features not a Theatrical Trailer and Where's the dog shed team game, kind of special.

Like everyone has said before, the only there will be a Balto special edition DVD is if Balto becomes much more popular. And I think the best way to get it more popular is to re-release it in theaters, and since there aren't any big animated films from Pixar or Dreamworks out now would be the perfect time! But if they can't do that I think the second best way would be to air Balto on TV. FOX, ABCfamily, or CN would probably be the most likely channels that would air it. Who knows, maybe if there is enough demand for it or if Universal changes their minds about it they may re-release it or air it on TV! (Hopefully)

A theatrical re-release, as much as I'd love to see it happen is very unlikely. Their belief in this movie has been drowned out over the years. It'd be nice if a lot of people would speak up about this but seeing the way things are ... But a rebroadcast on the channels you mentioned is what's more likely.

Honestly this whole petition should be resent as a demand for a Blu-Ray release. Like I said, not expecting any sorts of remastering. Edge enhancements would have to be removed though. It'll be a pretty barebones release though I think they best include the documentary. DTS-HD MA lossless audio with the movie would be epic. And this Blu-Ray release will benefit people from not having to import copies just for the widescreen aspect.

Yes, Steet means Blu-ray, the petition for the special edition didn't work. There is little hope for a blu-ray release as well.

Indeed, Blu-ray is high definition, you can't get any better than that.

By the way, "bestest" isn't a word. You just use best. :wink:
