I don't think they'd honestly do anything about it. As long as their copyright on the characters is mentioned I don't think it'll be an issue. It's just like a fan fic only it's a video....so I can't see why they'd be mad about it.

As far as I know they do not, but I don't think they'll be worried about it as fans have done stuff like this before for movies like "The Lion King". Example: http://www.deviantart.com/view/20546032/
Also we are not making any profit from their characters. We're just making this for the fun of it, and it's only going to be a trailer, like the "Taka's Scar" clip is.
Besides it just gives Balto more publicity and their copyrights will be mentioned.

No it's strictly an online thing because it's not official. It's only a fan trailer not a movie.

Just too bad that this project is a trailer. I mean it wouldn't be that difficult to create a full length movie (01:30:00.000) with 64,800 frames @ 12fps or a mere 162,000 frames @ NSTC 30fps... (wouldn't that be fun to draw character movement entirely by hand?  )
Still I guess a 5:00.000 trailer at 12fps would be about 3,600 frames, which I guess isn't too many frames but it would take a while to draw a good portion of those frames.
