Jon put his hands in his pockets. "Em, well. I went home to talk to my father, and well, I found out that he had gone to war. Your father is leading our army to defend our kingdom and push away the barbarians of the south." he said.

A man's work indeed. Come now, we cannot let this get in the way of our studies. He said, deep down he was a little bit scared for his father. He walked back to the courtyard. The girl waiting for him. She was 7 years old.

Jon smiled, the prince had taken it much better than even himself had. He nodded and jogged after his friend. He thought about his father and then of David's father and was scared for them, but they would be fine, he hoped.

"Would you like to go for a ride young master?" Jon asked. He smiled and looked at the barn. He turned his head to one side and looked at him. He grinned mischievously.

Sure. He said and looked over where Layla was. He knew if anything happened to his mother's horse. She would kill him. David snuck over, leading her away with only reigns. He swung onto her back and looked over at Jon.

Jon whistled calmly and his big Andalusian stallion trotted over. The big horse tossed his head. He didn't wear anything, no saddle, no bridle. He smiled and patted his horse's side. "This is Saint." he said. He took ahold of the horse's mane and swung up onto the horse. He smiled.

David::
He didn't want Jon thinking he didn't have a horse yet. This is Ghost. He said and patted Layla's side. She whinnied slightly and looked at him like, 'What?' David patted her and kicked her sides.

Jon nodded and smiled, "alright, let's go." he said and kicked Saint forward. The big horse started at a gallop right away, Jon and Saint had grown up together, he had raised the horse. Saint was like his brother. He smiled.

Jon and Saint moved down the street and out of the city. It was nice. Nothing was like a good ride after a long day of work. He smiled and looked back at David. They rode into the trees.

Jon and Saint sailed over a fallen log and continued at their pace. A full fledged gallop was what they were doing, but Jon didn't want to overdo it, so he soon reigned in the big horse by saying "easy boy, slow it up. That's it boy." they slowed down to a trot.

Jon slowed his horse even more, he smiled and patted Saint's neck. He looked into the trees. He regretted not bringing his bow along, he loved hunting. He saw a stag disappear into the trees and he sighed.
