"We'll continue along the river until it changes direction. Then we'll just continue north, I guess," Sadie said slowly.

"I meant once they woke up," Sadie corrected, her face flushing at her mistake.

"Well, we can't leave them alone, that's for sure," Sadie said, in a tone that she often used when thinking aloud. "And we've already eaten, so we don't need to hunt yet. I guess all we can do is stay alert, and try to think about what to do with Ai once we're forced to confront her." Her words were spoken slowly, as if they had to be absorbed into her brain as well before continuing. Her gaze cleared, and she turned her unique white eyes back on Rio's familiar frame. "So, what do you suggest?" she asked.

"Rio...I don't think she wants to kill us. Not at first anyways. She must want to use the pups to break us. And....then, I guess she'll kill us." Sadie's solemn words made a shudder course up her spine, and she was glad none of her pups could hear those words.

Laika flinched, though none of her parents saw, hopefully. She had been imitating a form of sleeping, and had been listening. The words her mother spoke sent a spike of fear through her, and she had to force herself not to whimper, though it took alot of effort. The only comfort was that she knew her mother and father would protect her with their lives.

Ooc:// I would like her to get away with it, if you don't mind.

Sadie padded towards the young pup. She looked as if she were deep in sleep. "I don't think she's awake, Rio," she said softly.

Ooc: Okay.

"Oh. I thought I heard a noise." Rio said. "I guess I was wrong."

Sadie yawned suddenly. "Mind keeping watch for a bit?" she asked.

"I'm tired again," Sadie said sheepishly, trying to stifle another yawn.

"Thanks," Sadie said, leaning forward. She licked his cheek, ruffling the thick fur there. She gave a small smile as well, then lied down, her odd, white eyes closing.
