The building was small and surprisingly empty. Shay guessed it was some temporary holding area, containing them and what used to be their captors. Loosening her finger from the trigger, she grinned. They weren't a problem anymore.
They soon emerged outside, and Shay looked at the scenery. They were in a forest, but that was about as much as she could tell. Dusk was already falling, and though her cat-like eyes were sensitive, storm clouds hovered in front of the waning moon and stars, making everything darker than normal. "Lets hurry and get a move on," she muttered, looking up. "I don't like the look of those clouds."
Viktor was still silent, and Shay suddenly felt concerned for him. Considering their relationship so far, and the fact that Shay wasn't the most motherly person, this was a bit of surprise. "Victor? You okay?" she asked.

"I held a gun on the dudes "guarding" us, and they let us go." Shay grinned, pleased at herself. "Don't worry. I wouldn't have actually shot it. I'm just good at bluffing."
She paused before continuing. "Does your head still hurt?"

Shay did laugh. "Zane's carrying you. Which answers both questions, I think," she grinned. "Think you can walk?" she asked, amusement still evident in her voice.
Ooc:// MInd editing? I don't like cursing, even censored. I don't mean to be a pain, or a nag, so sorry if I sounded annoying in any way.

Shay looked hesitant. She had seen Viktor stumble, and they should probably run. The "guards" wouldn't stay put forever. Then again, Zane couldn't carry him through the forest. She nodded slowly. "As long as you're sure," she said, doubt layering her voice. She began walking through the trees, trying not to set the pace too fast. Viktor would probably try, then fall.

"Trust me, I would hate to be carried too, Viktor. But I would prefer it to being stuck in cages again," Shay said, a growl edging "cages". That had been the worst part.

Shay was glad he didn't argue more, and even more glad that she was able to speed up. Now at a fast jog, she felt the first thrill of victory. They had escaped.

Shay grinned, then stuck her tongue out at Viktor. "Keep moving, slowpoke," she laughed, speeding up.
