"He wanted to make one of my sisters mate with him." said Cachen, finding that though disturbing and rightfully so.

Balto nodded. "We're all pretty much pros at being heroes now." he said. "Runs in the family."

"But I said I was sorry after it was over." said Dusty.

"And I love your father as well." said Lenatei. "I'd like it if he'd start dating again." she said. "Have someone to share his life with, it might sound weird but I just don't want him to have no love in his life."

Mako petted his bird. "Good job." he said, giving Martin a open bag of sunflower seeds as a reward and taking the fur.

OOC: Its ok, I understand.

Bashkei nodded. "Your uncle told me alot of things...Like how he fell through an ice flow-he probably hurt his head, badly." he smiled. "I guess I just don't want to believe he's really all that bad."


Tai laughed gently, smiling bright. "I guess it does run in the family, Grandpa."


Goldie's giggling receded, and she looked up, smiling lightly. "That's good."


The gore between both animals did not last long. Mammoth cracked the wolf's spine and neck, and flung the carcass into the lap of a very unfortunate man, who had bet on the wolf. The animal's face was turned up, a mask of pain and horror covered in blood.


Martin nodded, going at the sunflower seeds gratefully. "Master," he said, taking his head up from the bag. "Do you think you'd know who's it is?"

Katie blinked, smirking softly. "You think he could do that? I know he can't, Mama. Papa loves you, and only you."


"About that..." Martin said "There were many more with him...Five of 'em were only pups, a lot of them looked like wolves...Then, there was one, huge, all grey and almost as big as Mammoth." he of course, spoke of Bashkei, and something pulled at his mind. "Hey, didn't you say you got that white fur you have from a she-wolf, that had a mate?"


Tai nodded, smiling proudly. "We are, Grandpa. We are." she chuckled. "I just can't help but feel nervous every time we do this."


"I'd never trust one who'd give up his children." said Bashkei. "I found Fang when he was young...It was just after your Grandmother passed on...One who could give up a pup, their own blood-it goes without saying." he paused. "But, it is his Father, and we all want to think of our parents as things they may not be."

"You didn't know, Miss Dusty." Goldie said comfortingly. "And no one holds it against you."

Katie rolled her eyes. "Mama, you know Papa better than I do." she smirked, looking up at her mother knowingly.

"He could." said Martin, still pecking at the seeds. "He's only a mite smaller than Mammoth, so who's to say?"


Bshkei grinned. "There is some truth in what you say."


Tai smiled and licked her Grandfather's muzzle. "We love you too, Grandpa."


Goldie gave Dusty a friendly smile. "Then we're in the same boat then."

Katie rolled her eyes. "Papa's so stubborn...Wait...Oh God, if he catches up with Kodi and Balto, there's bound to be some confrontation isn't there?" she looked hopeful.


Martin nodded and didn't say anymore, he was far too small to be saying anything.


Bashkei nodded, amazed at how smart his grandchildren were.


"Bravery isn't the word." said Tai, smiling, "We're just doing what's right."


Goldie smiled happily. "Thank you miss Dusty!"

"They've already met and they're doing fine." said Lenatei. "Your pups and Balto had something to do with things going so smoothly."

Mako went over to Mammoth. "Rest up after that and then find who this came from." he said, giving his giant dog Balto's fur sample.

OOC: Should Mammoth and Titan be killed this time or stay alive and reappear with Mako later?

Cachen smiled. "What was momma like as a puppy?"

"That's a family trait too." said Balto, smiling.

"You're very welcome but its very true." said Dusty, smiling.

Katie sighed softly, smiling. "They're all so smart, I'm just glad nothing has happened..."

OOC: Perhaps we need to see where the next few pages go.

Mammoth looked at the fur tuft and sniffed it. Raising his head in alarm, he turned his head away from the mixed scents. He didn't know who the fur belonged to, mainly because of all the mixed scents.

Tai giggled softly, tail wagging quickly.

Bashkei smirked "Always getting into trouble, she always gave me a look to get me to forgive her. And your Mother was alot like you; very happy and very optimistic."




Goldie smiled, happy to know everyone thought so. She truly and deeply cared about Cachen.
