"I understand. Maybe we should just outright kill them. Then our worries are over." Rio said.

Sadie looked at him, her face blacnk with a certain amount of shock. She mentaly shook herself, trying to reply in a steady voice. "Rio, if we even attempt that, we'll be no better than Ai. Killing her or the others is only to be used as a last resort, if there's no way out of a bad situation. That's not the answer."

"Oh, then how do we escape them? How will we live when they are looking for us nonstop wanting to kill us?" He asked.

"I don't know, Rio!" Sadie said, her voice growing a bit louder. Frustration coursed through her. "If I knew, do you think I would've kept it to myself all this time? No! We wouldn't be worrying about this right now if I knew! I have no idea what to do!" She was panting hard, and she closed her eyes tightly. MOst of her frustration had been vented, and her voice dropped in volume. "I'm sorry. I'm just confused, tired, and stressed."

Rio felt down inside. He didn't express it much though.
"Its okay. This is a stressful time. Where We don't know what to do." He said.

Sadie nodded slowly, her face falling. "We'll just have to continue with our plan. The tribe in the north should be able to protect us more than we can protect ourselves."

He continued walking without word.

"Rio, did I upset you?" Sadie asked, cocking her head in a way that was cose to apologetic. "I really didn't mean to shout...it just sort of...happened."

Sadie had known Rio for a long time, and she could tell he wasn't being completely honest. But she let the matter go, pretending to believe his words. She dipped her head in a nod as a response, then turned her gaze to her sleeping pups.
