Takari and Rue stared at eachother, memories connecting inside Rue's mind, feuled by Nudge and Nook's reunion. "Takari....?"
Takari immediatly rushed up to her old friend, touching her on the shoulder with a thin muzzle. "Oh, Rue," she half-whispered.

Rue grinned, tail brushing her friend's reddish flank.
"I used to live near Rue," Takari began to explain. "I was walking with her in the forest."
Rue nodded, remembering the day. "She went to go do something or the other, and never came back. I searched for hours."
"There was a portal that opened in the water," Takari explained further. "I was caught by surprise and fell in."

"We were friends," began Nudge, "...but when Nook moved to live with your owner, tiger, he left and I never saw him again."
"My. Name. Is. Vetch." he growled, trying to contain himself with the annoyance.

"He always like this?" Takari asked in a soft murmur into Rue's ear.
Stifling a grin, Rue shook her head.

nudge danced around Nook, then tackled him. "I'm so glad to see you again!"
Nook pushed him off and shouted, "So am I!" before laughing and running off, Nudge on his tail.
Vetch grunted. "Well we're not gonna find the trees anytime soon at this pace." he growled as he turned and started walking again.

"Oh, lighten up," Rue said, moving her tail to once again touch him. "Why are you so bummed, anyhow?" she asked, looking at him expectantly.
Takari, laughter in her brown eyes, walked over to them. Seeing Rue's questioning, slightly sympathetic expression, she cocked her head quizically. "What's wrong?"

Nook was running by, Nudge behind him. As the little orange fox/raccoon darted by, Vetch held out his paw and grabbed him, throwing him on his back, without moving his own head.
