Mike awoke early the next morning to three restless pups squirming next to him. He slowely got up and calmed them gently.
"Hey pups. It's okay. Dads here. I love you guys so much."

Jamie was awake and she pushed the pups to her so they could eat. She then fell back asleep saying, " I love you Mike." She was smiling when she fell asleep.

Mike grinned, then went outside to enjoy the early morning. He strolled up to the lake and began drinking, when something suddenly caught his eye. There was something gold under the surface of the water about a foot down. He reached out for it and brushed some mud off of it. What he saw made him gasp. It was a small gold plate (about the size of a CD) with strange indian markings all over it. Mike tried to loosen it but it wouldn't even shift, let alone come loose.
Mike struggled for about 15 minutes, then gave up. He ran back to the cave and found Jamie still sleeping inside.
"Jamie! Wake up. I found something!"

She woke up and said, " What is it? I didn't do it! Sorry Mike, I was dreaming about something." She smiled weakly a little bit embarrassed about what she said.

Mike smiled and gave a small chuckle.
"Come see what I found in the lake it's...."
Mike paused and looked at the pups.
"Hmmmm, the pups should come, too."

"Yeah. They are big enough." She smiled and nudged the pups to walk, " You weren't here when it happened, but, Helga was the first to walk today." She smiled.

Mike looked in suprise at Helga. "Boy! Who would've known that she'd be the first! Just wish I was here to see."
Mike then looked back at Jamie in excitement.
"Come on! You're gonna love this!"
He then led Jamie and the pups to the lake, and showed her the gold plate.

"Wow Mike! That's awesome!" She said and dove under water to go get it. She tried to get it out but ran out of breathe and went back up to the surface " Man! That sucker won't budge!" She said and laughed.

"Oh, it's just something that the humans put things on, and they watch what ever they want to." She said, " But a CD wouldn't get stuck like that." She said looking at the bottom of the lake.

Mike suddenly leap to the other side of Jamie, and stopped a pup from plopping into the water.
"He looked back at Jamie.
"Sorry if I scared you." Then he laughed

She laughed, " It's ok." She then dove under water and brushed the dirt off of the disk and it said, " The night that the wolves survived from horror."She then gasped and got out of the water and told Mike what it had said.

Mike gasped. "Horror!? What Horror?"
Mike looked at the gold plate from where he stood.
"Doesn't it look like it's attatched to something?"
Mike dove under and brushed more dirt away. the plate was attatched to a solid metal square hidden under the dirt and rocks. It wasn't gold, it was just a flat steel color with many rivets.
Mike resurfaced. "What do you make of this?"
