Bashkei smiled softly. He was always going to be glad to hear that. "You may not know it, but you carry so much of your Mother." he said, ruffling Cachen's head fur playfully. "I'm very proud of her for raising such wonderful pups."
Tai blinked, looked at Balto's neck, there was a small patch of skin showing. She held back a giggle. Tai started to lick the wound, hoping it would help some.
Katie nodded, closing her eyes. "I know...But, why did it have to happen to you?" she asked "Why not someone else?"

Cachen blushed. "I'm glad she did too, I'm glad to be a good puppy."
Dusty smiled at the family reunion that had happened, she knew everything would turn out right, it always did.
Balto smiled and nuzzled his granddaughter. "Thanks Tai."
"Can you honestly say anyone deserves that?" asked Lenatei. "Fate rarely does what we'd want it to when we want it."

"You and your siblings have to be the most intelligent, good pups I've ever met." Bashkei chuckled, looking forward. "Then again, so was your Mama..."
Goldie stood next to Dusty, looking at the family as well. "Miss..." she murmured "Why are wolves so close to one another?" she asked, hoping to find an answer in another dog, she was a bit confused.
Tai giggled, nuzzling Balto. "Well, I didn't want you to bleed...But, you way want to try and hide that bald spot on your neck..." she began to laugh softly.
"Niju....Steele...." Katie murmured, giving off a very bratty tone. "My own cousin tried to mate with my daughter..."

Cachen blushed. "Thank you." he said. "...Grandpa, I do have one thing that's kinda embearessing...I'm hemophobic." he said, knowing the name of his phobia quite well.
"ITs because, in the wild, wolves normally live in groups, packs." said Dusty. "So they're naturally close to those they like."
Balto moved fur over the bald spot. "There." he said. "All better."
"Yes, though fortunitly that rotton wolf got his tail kicked." said Lenatei. "Our family always has had the talent when it comes to rising to the occasion."

Fear of blood... Bashkei's eyes softened, and he looked about. Slowly bringing his muzzle to Cachen's ear, he whispered. "Don't worry...You grow out of it...I was, too." it was embarrassing for the big wolf to admit.
Goldie nodded, giving a light smile. "I think we should be more like that..."
Tai continued to giggle, tail wagging. "Good."
Katie nodded. "Poor Uncle...He tries though." she smiled, snuggling into Lenatei. "I miss when Uncle Nava used to visit."

Cachen's eyes widened. "Really? You?" he whispered back, surpised.
"I agree." said Dusty. "All dogs are descended from wolves afterall."
"Glad it didn't bleed...what with Cachen's phobia and all." said Balto.

Bashkei nodded, looking his grandson straight in the eye. "Yes...but, as I grew, it continued to get less and less severe. My brother had to drain the blood for me when I was about your age." he whispered back, a slight smile going over his face. "It goes away with time. It may still make you uneasy, but you don't become sick."
OOC: May as well give them a little more common ground.
Goldie sighed, looking down. "They're lucky...they're family is so close." she smiled ruefully. She missed her parents terribly, even though she couldn't remember them.
"I know." Tai said, nuzzled her grandfather. "Grandpa-what if something bad does happen to Momma?" she whispered softly, looking afraid. "Most of us can't fight."

"Lena drains the blood for me." whispered Cachen. "I hope it wears off like you say."
"Yeah, that is true." said Dusty. "I'm really sorry I almost broke the family up, it breaks my heart to think of it."
"Tai, we've been in hard times before, everything will be fine in the end." said Balto. "Can you say it has ever not ended up fine?"
"I know Katie." said Lenatei. "But at least you've got such a nice new family."

Katie smiled lightly. "There was nothing wrong with my old family."
Bashkei smiled genuinely and with great care. "I promise."
A reassured smile crept over Tai's face. "No, I can't, Grandpa." her smile faded for a second. "I just have a bad feeling, about this human..."
"All things happen for a reason." Goldie said softly, smiling. "And you're a pretty dog, so who couldn't help themselves?" the second part was whispered.

Lenatei nuzzled her daughter. "I know, we all do, but we're always going to be family."

"your Mother is strong." Bashkei said, grinning. "It'd take two wolves my size to just hold her down." as he said this, Bashkei couldn't help but laugh slightly.
"Right." Tai said but then thought of something. "How...long is it to Anchorage?"
"I had a feeling you didn't." Goldie grinned, giggling lightly. "You're much too kind to really hurt anybody on purpose."
Katie chuckled, looking up sullenly. "I had a feeling you'd say that." she smiled softly.

"Niju tried, it didn't work." said Cachen, smiling.
"It isn't as long as it was to the capital." said Balto. "I think we'll be there in a day or two."
"Thanks." said Dusty. "Still, I felt pretty guilty." she said. "And angry at Kodi, I think when I found out about him cheating on her, I kicked him in a rather painful place."
"We're very alike Katie, aren't we?" asked Lenatei, smiling.

Bashkei couldn't help but laugh. "You're joking right?" he asked "Niju and your Mother were very close when they were young...They still are! He usually only listened to what Katie had to say."
Tai nodded, smiling softly. "I know we will, Grandpa."
Goldie couldn't help but giggle softly, cringing on the inside.
Katie smiled brightly, tears flowing into her eyes. "I love you, too, Mama."
Inside the ring, both animals went at it very slow, the wolf bleeding form several places while even Mammoth was bleeding. By now, the audience was soaked in blood.
Martin saw his Master, and landed on the man's shoulder, the tuft of Balto's fur still in his beak.
OOC: Sorry it took me so long to post for Mammoth, I'm just not inherently cruel *.* so it takes me a bit.
