Kodi didn't wait for the others' responses. He began running the the boiler room's direction. "Come on!" Kodi shouted over his shoulder.
Rose rolled her eyes. "He has to stop doing that," she said with a smile before running after her brother.

Kodi rushed into the boiler room, the others far behind him because not only had he had a head start, but he was naturally faster being a sled dog. He looked around; there were plently of older dogs in there. He smiled shyly at his sudden entrance. He spotted Doc and cleared his throat before walking up to the older dog. "Um, hi Doc," Kodi said.

"Yes," Doc said slowly. "I knew very well actually. He used to live in Nome." He paused, looking at Kodi with sharp eyes. "Why?"
"Well..." Kodi stopped what he was saying immediately. He wondered if Doc would even approve of their idea. What if he wouldn't tell them anything because he didn't approve?

"But will you tell us?" Kodi asked. "Why promise to tell Dad if thats what you want."
"Honestly I don't care who knows," Doc said. "But if word gets out that I know the whole story, most of the twon will be at my door asking to here me retell it. After so long, no matter how good the story, retelling gets tiring after awhile."
"We won't tell a soul you know," Saba said. "We promise."
