(Yes I was hoping we'd avoid these guys, I just put them in to get us moving XD)

Cyrus darted off the road with the others. They would have to find a quieter route into Desdon. If there was some sort of large scale crisis going on, then there was likely medical help. However, Cyrus was not too keen on approaching a potential battleground and risking death for some gauze and bandaging... And he doubted that whatever medical help was present would be organized well, or even provided on the appropriate side of the conflict. Would they be healed or shot? He decided he'd discuss it when they found a safe spot.

Seeing Akari wrap a makeshift bandage around Anayu, Cyrus realized that he had no first aid experience himself. Now he wondered why he never found it worth his time to learn. Perhaps, he thought with dread, he'd learn through experience.

(I have no idea what the plans are from this point, so someone please lead or fill me in and have me do so lol :) )

The pain in her leg, although still throbbing, had died somewhat, letting Anayu rise up on her own, supported by the staff. She sensed the vibrations in the ground as well and as much as she would love to dish out some Dhole-power upon the two approaching creatures, she reminded herself that not only would she probably be fighting alone, but she was also injured on the worst place possible - her leg - effectively voiding her of many abilities.

"I agree with the liz- I mean Sissmuth. We should get off the road. I'm sorry - I did not expect to drag you all into trouble by taking this little detour." she said as she clumsily limped over to Akari.

"And... Akari," she began, hesitating for a moment before embracing him. She knew from that moment on who she would always stand by, and yet her actions surprised her. Her entire life's challenges had been faced alone and a day or two with this wolf had let her throw aside all her social reservations. Perhaps the need had always been there but she never knew what it was? Or perhaps it was merely a mask to hide something she perceived to be a weakness, having always been forced to be strong and independent?
Regardless, she felt a change. It laid a foundation and she wanted to build upon this new creation, although it also frightened her that she couldn't recognize her feelings, but maybe that would come with time and experience, just like everything else. And though it would indeed take time, she knew she could trust the wolf she had embraced to help her if she needed him.
And she wanted him to know how much she appreciated him.

"Thank you. Thank you for everything." she whispered to his ear before she let go and turned to face away from the road, her gemstone gleaming for a few seconds as she gathered its energy. She held her free hand outwards as if though she was holding a sphere, although to an untrained eye it could seem as though she didn't hold anything. In truth, the energy merely flickered in her palm rather than give off a definite glow.
She turned her hand so that its palm now faced toward the earth and the flickering streams of energy shot down into it, spending only a mere second to do so.

Another few seconds passed before a slight rumble from below could be heard. Once this happened she kept moving her hand in circles.
Then the rumbling stopped but there were no visible changes on the ground, although Anayu's emerald now gave off a bright glow - and it didn't fade.

"Let us go before they catch up." she said as she began to move away from the spot, supported by her staff.
"Although," she added, "I think they'll have trouble passing this point once we've left."

She'd expect Sissmuth to guess what she'd done. He was, after all, an Earth user and she had a good idea of how sensitive he was by now.
If anyone were able to detect magical energy infused in the ground, he would, and especially energy condensed in the way she had used it.

But a trap is a trap and Anayu did not at all favour the idea of having another bullet removed - much less from her head, which she was sure she'd be hit if someone began shooting at them again. She was that lucky.

Progress saved. Great work everyone!

It shouldn't be too much longer before I start poking my head into the online world of the nets again.
