"No!" Tara cried harder, balling her fists. She knew that if she used her powers to free Chase, then she'd have doomed everyone. She had no choice but to try and free him by other means; which she had no clue of what to do.

The other man that had a hold on Chase suddenly stopped grinning, and he looked down at his hands, which were growing darker with heat. "What.." he began, then freed one of his hands to bring it closer to his face and get a better look.

The man's jaw dropped as his hand became increasingly hot and the skin began to flake off. He screamed and let his other hand off of Chase to try and fan his burning one.
