I saw the movie. Not a flop. Well it hardly stuck to the book, but a good movie in its self.

I don't see why people say this book is a copy of Star Wars, when, frankly, Star Wars wasn't even original to begin with. George Lucas, when writing the script, got a lot of his ideas from ancient mythology and literature (as well as other influences such as Watership Down and The Seven Samurai), so I guess logicaly, Star Wars copied stuff to.
Also, technicly Star Wars is a "hero's journey" and I guess Eragon is a "hero's journey" as well.
