I saw it! I think it was pretty good. In the beginning they overwhelm you with cuteness. Like they warned, it did cause my toes to tap!

I can't wait to see Happy Feet. I've heard some bad things about it though, so I hope it turns out to be a good movie. :?

Memphis: Whatcha doin' with your feet?
Baby Mumble: [looks down] They're happy, too!

Quote is from IMDb

I have the DVD movie and I like it when Mumble tryed to sing and it sounded like screeching. But I loved the fat little penguin he was named Seymour.

My friend saw it and said it was weird. I think the animation looks wierd and the plot sounds pointless. The only thing this movie has that is anywhere cool to me is the concept of penguins and the songs. Thats it. I'm how you say sick of all the new 3d films and their pointless matters.

Pointless matters?!

Freaking pointless matters?!?!?!?!

This is going to spoil it for many people, but the singing and the penguins were minor parts of the movie! If you saw it, you would know what the hidden message is.

It's about conservation. At the end, it gives the message to save wildlife. Yes, the dancing helps this along, as Mumble's tap dancing allows him to communicate with the people (aliens xD).

See, Mumble left because he was sulking one day, had a bit of a (wild) swim, and found a machine. He was amazed, and longed to find out more. I don't want to give away the entire plot, but he ends up in a zoo and starts tap dancing, which intrigues the humans, leading to the conservation message.

Whooo! My Happy Feet DVD's comin'*does happy penguin tapdance*

I've heard a lot of criticism about Happy Feet, but there are too many reasons to list why it was the top dog in animation this year(eat snow Cars!)

It was innovative to say the least. The animation was flawless and the story was unsinkable. It was certainly much more than dancing penguins. Even though the message didn't come along until later in the story, the entire story was clearly about preserving the wildlife. What I just can't stand is reading the Yahoo reviews of this movie and seeing so many people complaining about it "shoveling environmental messages down peoples' throats". Look back at all the great animated films of the past. You'll hardly find a one that doesn't teach some kind of moral. A lot of the films we see today have nothing to lean on like the lessons learned in those old movies. They're just characters running around on a screen, punctuated by 6-year-old slapstick/toilet humor. If you're offended by a simple message only trying to get people to understand something that really is happening in this world and what they can do to help it, then you have some SERIOUS problems. It's not like the movie is screaming political nonsense or trying to change people's beliefs.

Happy Feet is an adorable, smart movie and I'm proud to say it's joined my list of all-time favorites. howl.gif

I have never seen it, but my sister has. it seems that it is a movie saying humans are very evil. by putting them in zoos and being mean to them? i think the movie messages it is this way.

and ya know, the whole mumble didnt fit in, the cute stuff, and yeah, all that stuff just is an attention getter to get people to watch it. and then they feed you all about human evilness.

lots of movies do that. but not all.

I've scene this movie when it first came out in the theater. I remember watching it with my friend in the front row so we could see it better.

Anyway, it was a great movie! I don't have the DVD, but I have this book (scene below) I bought the same year in Cleveland Ohio, in a science museum. (Don't know the name, I remeber it was next to the rock 'n hall of fame.)

I don't know why, but I feel this book is rare. Please tell me its not rare. Anyway, it was $13.99. Its in mint condition.(I'm surprised. I had a tendency to wear stuff out, or damage stuff back then.)
