Well, consider the historical fact that, while Balto was only three years old in 1925, Togo was a very respectable 12 years old. And only lived four more years after that. Twelve is old for a dog...and yet, Togo still held the lead position on Seppala's team, and led it the incredible distance of 261 round-trip miles.
And, of course, there is Nava (from WQ).
So, unless the writers botched such a story line, and made Balto old in a human way, then his being in some hypothetical fourth sequel is sound.
