Well I can't remember the other one, but there was one where I had to type c c: instead of just c:

The part where you type c: is just to change directories from the Z:/> drive to the C:>/ drive (which would be the folder that you put the wolf game in) OR to tell DosBox that your wolf folder is on the C drive i.e. (Mount c c:\wolf) If you just type mount c c:/ you will mount your entire C: Drive in DosBox and thus to run the game you'll have to change directories from the root level to the Wolf folder and then type Wolf to run the game.

Either I read the tutorial wrong, or there is a different procedure on AMD machines, because it's not working for me. I type in "Wolf" and I get that it's an illegal command. I've done everything in the tutorial...I'm stumped...

I can 100% tell you that when you get down to it both Intel and AMD processors work the same way in this situation. There would be no difference. Although using an older Intel machine might allow you to run Wolf directly from XP without the use of DosBox, running an AMD machine will not change the procedure to run it under DosBox in fact it was written and tested on an AMD machine.

Yeah I know, that's why I was so surprised when the game worked like it should! It's weird

The Wolf game is very old so the Setup.exe program doesn't install the application but rather it allows you to set the application up for play on your computer. Most users shouldn't need to use it, it'll work without ever going into the setup app. You don't have to install Wolf in order to play the game. The only program that you have to install is DosBox.

You have to start Wolf from within DosBox, not from within Windows as you have said you are doing. Whenever I attempted to run Wolf on my computer directly from Windows I had the same thing happen to me. Start DosBox and then follow the tutorial. It won't do much good to have DosBox installed if you don't use it.

ok, I'm more then happy to help you out! :D We'll get this all worked out, no worries!

So now you have a folder in your root C: Directory called WOLF and you have moved all of the Wolf game files into that directory correct?

If that is the case then open up DosBox and reference the picture below:

when you're in the C prompt just type wolf and if everything is in the correct place then the game will start.

If that isn't the case let me know.

Open up the zip file in Windows, (You're on XP right?) and go to Edit > Select all then go to Edit > COPY, then open up your Wolf directory and go to Edit > Paste and the contents of the zip file should be copied over to your hard drive.
