Balto. In relation to the subject, there was that one race against the other dogs where balto beat them. I think he could've beat Steele as well

I think He dose run a lot.
Yeah, he runs but probably nowhere near the amount, or experience, Steele has.

Balto all the way. I think he is faster then steele but never really got a fair chance to prove himself in the movies since he never started and ended a race agenst steele without an issue.

If your talking about the one in the beginning of the movie I don't really count that one since Balto ran in at the end. What I meant was that there wasn't a defined start and finish with both Balto and Steele racing against one another from start to finish.

Balto all the way! just remember that the film wanted to show us that Balto is faster. and it does serveral times. even the races was not so exactly fair. Although sometimes Balto is disadventage and sometimes is not, Balto always win. and remember what Kaltag said. "Balto, you're running too fast! Balto, slow down!" this might mean Kaltag could not keep up. Or this might not means Kaltag could not keep up BUT Balto ran faster than Steele did. and Kaltag was afraid that the whole team might not be able to catch up. OR in the other hand, this might means Balto was running too fast than he should. and this shows that Balto was lack of experience.
but still...I think Balto is faster than Steele. I voted for Balto 100%.

I attack in this conversation LOL!
Of course I know that it's hard to say against others who likes from the character who outrun a enemy dog.
Steele has ran large race when he arrived on the Nome. Also he was first one but won by cheat(out of discustion) However they arrived on Nome. Balto who was not even ran so much than Steele has outran steele because of that. Stamina is crap and what ever I still voted Steele because his trained Balto however is the main character. In reality I bet that couldn't work at all. 8 dogs sled team was outrun by one wolf dog? loool I think that doesn't got so much of things (That who quotes this can get stryk from mig)
The basics was that CLV is mostly right and I don't disagree with him. Even if it is against Balto(usual I'm more interested from dogs and wolves...trying all the time find more information)
For wolves hunting tactics ONLY ONE wolf doesn't hunt. There is the whole pack in it sometimes (not all the time) And they chase their pray so long that it gets exhausted...but Wolves use another way. They chase the pray on direction where their team mates are. When pray runs by the two other wolves...same chase starts again but again with statust ready. Pray finally got too weak and there it ends. (That's for one wolf tactic also Rabbits have lured hunting dogs so badly that dog never found rabbit...Information from real hunter)
But back to the case. Balto isn't trained. Steele is trained and leader of a team...and his strong, and some other. There is always but's but still I believe that Steele is faster and a lot faster No matter how many will whine from this (I give automatic answer for everyone who whines from this WHINE OFF-CS words by =GK= Pirkka)
(Drawolf it was Star who complined from it For me it's called Välkky lol that's the name what they use in Finnish balto version)

really!? I'm pretty sure it was Kaltag... It's been a long time since I watch Balto. oh well, I forgot... I mean the scene before Balto fell off the cliff along with the medicine. right before the white wolf scene. was it Kaltag? or was it Star?

Yeah, stamina would make a difference and that's something I doublt Balto has. Just because he's part wolf doesn't mean anything. I'm not trying to sound like an expert but for a runner to get good stamina, they have to run long distances and train hard. Something Balto probably never done.

I'm pretty sure Steele ran just as fast; Kaltag, Star and everybody else knew not to complain.
