Because the people who would be producing the sequels would at least know about it even if their jobs did not start for 6 months or so..surely it would make sense to "book" these people so they didn't get another job instead.

Anyway I remember DW telling us that Balto 3 was indeed going to happen way before he started working on it.

It's a little dissapointing to hear Balto 4 is not in work, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if it never came out. I mean, after seeing Balto 2, I was praying for another sequel, as that movie kind of ended abruptly, and wasn't very true to the original. But now, after seeing WoC, I'd be content w/the three...besides, I really wouldn't want Balto to become the next Land Before Time

It is soo awesome that Phil visits Balto Source! But, then it makes me feel really bad about some anti-WQ comments I've seen and agreed with here, and things I've said on BC (if he goes here he might have gone there, too). Its surprising that with all the anti-WQ&WoC sentiments that are voiced here, he still visits. I hope he realizes that most of them (or at least mine) are directed at the animation team and not the rest of the production staff. In my opinion, there needs to be a Balto 4 to wrap up the series, because the other sequels seem to lack closure.

Well I don't think there are so many negative comments about the sequels, compared to the positive comments. Most people here like the sequels, even if they could have been better, of course. Especially if they had a higher budget for their production.

You're right, there are a lot of positive comments here, but if I were him I would probably be a little put down by the negative ones. They definately needed a) a bigger budget, b) more time spent in pre-production and production, and c) more effort in trying to match the style of the original. Now that I think of it, they are a lot better than the LBT sequels they churn out every year, so for what they had to work with, they did pretty good.

Seems like no Balto 4, but that isn't surten either, well it's good to see that Balto is in good hands.
Phil Weinstein is in middle of making peni's wish so I think it would be wise to wait and give him time, while that just disscuss about Balto 4 and merchindase instead of sending him e-mails, pluss sequels are allways best when they are really planned, specially when fans disscuss what they want in the movie and what is should be about!
It also seems like he cares about Balto and that is good thing.
The sequels weren't so good but I didn't hate them, I just really hated Aleu and didn't like WQ so much, but no movie is perfect, every movie is got pros and cons and WQ is no exeption.
I'd also feel down if I was in his place and some people said bad comments on WQ but not only for that people will stop posting their thoughts on WQ.
Then Balto 3 WOC was better so if we disscuss about Balto 4 chances are Balto just gets better.

Wow, Steet, you have got alot to be proud of! ^.^ I think you deserved this, especially for the time you put into it. ^.^ Well, IF there is definatly no Balto 4, I will be perfectly fine with that. I hated the third Balto, and the 2nd was ok. ^,^
