Scarlet found the strength to smile. “I was just a little tired, that’s all,” she assured him, but the expression on the Beta’s face when he pulled away from her…
Scarlet knew he didn’t believe her. But he let it slide anyway.
The young Omega stretched her body, making sure that her friend wasn’t able to see her slightly larger-than-normal stomach. Part of her wanted the puppies to be born sooner than they had to, but the other half of her anticipated their arrival. “Do you know what’s happened to the pack?” she asked. Scarlet’s ears twitched as a few flakes of snow dropped from the sky again and landed on the sensitive fur atop her head.

Apollo shrugged. “Dunno,” he admitted and turned tail to return back to his post. He was all aware of Scarlet following behind him and slowed his walk down for her to catch up. He didn’t mention it –not to her and not to the rest of his pack- but the Beta male noticed that Scarlet had began to slow down the past few weeks; it took her forever to get up, and she practically slept all day, though she’d complain about hunger, the Omega would either never touch her food –or whatever was left of it- or she’d cough up what she had ate. It concerned Apollo to see her like this and he contemplated whether or not he should talk to his Alphas about it once they got back from the hunt.
“Nevada!” he called out, tail wagging in the air playfully when he spotted one of the few pack members that were left in the Black Forest Ridge wolves’ territory. He absentmindedly upped his step to reach the older wolf. “I didn’t see you there.” He plopped himself down on his haunches off to the left of the female Beta’s side.

Nevada turned her head back away from the path left in the snow by the alphas. "Never?" she asked him, laughing a bit. "I've been here the whole time, waiting for our alphas to bring back food." she growled at the end of her sentence. 'What's taking them SO long?' her stomach rumbled as she spoke quietly, looking back towards to path. "They should be back by now.." she looked worried, sitting up on her haunches.


Red ran off with the chicken, back into town, leaving Heracles back to the pack. "Pffftt." Red scoffed, looking back as he ran. He dropped the chicken as he felt another creatures touch. He and the other tumbled and rolled in the snow, making a few people walking around laugh at the silly puppies. Red stood and shook himself and stared into another dogs eyes. "Hello." she smiled. "I'm Maize." she sat on her haunches, looking at the dog staring back at her. "I'm... I'm Red." Red looked into the eyes of another Australian shepherd. "Red, hmm. That's a cute name." she smiled, picking up the chicken and offering it back to Red. "You in a pack?" he asked Maize. "No, I'm a stray..." she hesitated tilting her head to the right at his question. "Oh." Red shook his head. He asked her if she'd join his pack, the Town dogs. "Sure.." she answered smiling at him. "I've never been in a pack, nonetheless went many other stray dogs or anything." Maize nodded. Red nodded as they both trotted. Since, Maize and Red had NO mates, they decided to become mates themselves, together. "I actually have sort of a mate. Though, Rose doesn't appreciate me. And we've never hade pups, so I consider myself single until know." a few months later, they full became mates after knowing each other for quite a while.

Rose ran to red pinned him and licked his cheeks happily."Red?I appreciate you bringing me the chicken."Rose said smiling.Rose looked up and saw Maize."Who's this..?"She said growling a teeny tiny bit.Rose leaped off of Red and looked at Maize."Who are you?What are you doing here?Friend or Foe?"Rose asked suspiciously.

Buster found Rose.Buster had already grown fully."Rose!Rose!Is it time for me to be the alpha male?"Buster asked happily.He saw Rose nod slowly as in to say'Yes..Your the new alpha male from now on..'Buster's tail wagged.Buster ran back to Heracles and Lucky."Heracles!Lucky!Rose made me the new official alpha male!"Buster cheered happily.

Rose's brother,Snapdragon,new to the stray dog pack walked up to his little brother Buster."Nice Job Buster!"Snapdragon said.Snapdragon walked away to his sister.'Dragon?'Snapdragon had heard his nickname being called by his older sister."Yes?"Dragon asked.'I'm starting to get old..and yes,I'm planning to have pups with Red..So tell Buster..He will be guided by you.'Dragon had heard Rose say.Dragon nodded sadly and walked away to Buster.

As if he read her mind, Apollo sighed. "I have no idea why they're not back yet, but, if it comes to it, I'll go out and try to track them down." The wolf's chest puffed out a bit, showing his prideful side. "Honestly though," he added and sat beside his companion, "they should have been back by now.
Apollo cocked his head to the side when he saw a figure in the distance approaching. It was too far away, he couldn't actually make it out...
"You see that?" he asked Nevada, a bit of a growl playing on the edge of his voice. "I can't see clearly, but it might be one of those blasted dogs!" With a snarl through clenched teeth, the Beta male leaped off the rock and ran off to meet the intruder head on. The male wolf stopped a few meters from a clearing and, still surrounded by the snow covered pine trees, called out, "Who are you and what are you doing in the Black Forest Ridge Pack's territory?" There was no wind in the air so Apollo couldn't catch the scent of the other who stopped across from him.

The other paused and walked forward a bit more. They ignored Apollo's growling and threats to charge them before they said, "It's me. Dawn, one of the lead hunters for our pack." She put enfaces on the word "our", but there was a bit of a panic in the female's stern voice. "The Alphas and the rest of the hunters are engaged in battle with the pack of town dogs who moved closer and closer to out home. I was told to go back and get some of you, the wolves left here, to replace our fallen brothers."

Scarlet shrunk back when she saw Apollo run off to go and talk with their female Beta, Nevada. The pregnant wolf stuck around a little bit more to hear what the two second-in-commands had to say, but her strong hunger drove the tawny wolf away from the pack; she turned and went past the den area and out into the woods to try and catch some food.
She succeeded in eating some unlucky terns and mice. After a while, Scarlet ended up traveling the long route to her whelping den she had dug out a few days earlier, for the arrive of her pups. It wasn't long now, until they were born, so their mother went on and distanced herself from the Black Forest Ridge Pack. She knew she'd have no chance of returning, not when she had puppies to take care of within a few days. 'Maybe in a few hours,' she thought and felt the increased feeling in her stomach before slipping into her cozy den.

As always, Heracles was not very amused, but he smiled and gave a wordless nod of approval to the kid's excitement of gaining his new position. He didn't agree with it, though; the Malamute thought that Buster needed more experience of running a pack before Rose let him jump right in. But, too late.
The old dog lied his head down on his paws, eyeing the husky mix talk to Lucky, who didn't seem too interested either. 'Please don't lead us to doom,' he silently prayed. His triangular ears suddenly shot back to hear a bunch of his pack members barking and howling. Heracles' eyes widened. That sounded like...were they getting ready for battle? Again? Didn't they have enough of seeing their friends and family die at the jaws of the Black Forest Ridge's wolves?! Heracles growled shortly and rose to his feet, trotting over to the riled group where he learned that there had already been another group of dogs sent out, and that they were already fighting the wolves.

Rose quickly but swiftly,leaped up into the air landing on two wolves' backs.She bit them both one after the other killing them.Rose felt a strong jaw around her leg.She yelped in pain.Rosebud swiped her paw and slashed one of the wolves' limb.She leaped onto the wolf biting it's neck tearing off its flesh killing the wolf.

"Rosebud!"Snapdragon shouted as he ran to her and growled at the wolves surrounding her.Dragon hopped onto two wolves biting their scruffy tearing them off."Die mother *******!"Snapdragon shouted angrily as he leaped on several wolves at a time biting their necks and scruffs tearing them off.Dragon was a very strong German Shepherd unlike his sister Rosebud.

Buster heard a yelp from his eldest sister."Rose!Im coming!"Buster ran to the wolves leaping on them knocking down four.His large build pinned them all down as he bit them."B*******!"Buster ripped off the wolves' neck flesh.Due to his breed he was a very large dog.He quickly got off the four dead wolves and leaped onto some others.He slashed some of their faces with his sharp,lean claws.Buster bit the other wolves' necks again ripping off their flesh.

By the time Apollo and Dawn had arrived, they saw that another large group of dogs had arrived to the fray -and the wolves' side was loosing. Without hesitation, the young huntress raced blindly into battle and smashed right into a German shepherd's side, knocking the male to the ground. She was about to go on for the kill, he teeth snapped at the canine's throat, but that's all she got to do before another force rammed into her head on, smashing her snout and the wolf yelped loudly. She landed a few feet off in the snow, which was colored red due to the fighting, but she was quick to regain her footing.
Dawn's muzzle was fractured and made her breathing a little bit harder all of a sudden, but the female didn't stop snarling at the dog that had shoved her away from her kill; he wasn't as big as she was, but extremely fluffy and almost wolf-like.

Heracles was dazed from his attack, and the dog nearly fell to the ground. 'No', he told himself and tried to steady his dizzy head. 'Gotta stay focus. Wolf. In front of me. Ready to kill.'
The Malamute mix growled at his enemy. Why did it have to be the wolves? Why couldn't they be attacking caribou instead?

Species/Breed: Grey wolf
Personality: Dawn has an air of respect about her, though she doesn’t really maintain a high pack rank. She lives by the rule “I scratch your back, you scratch mine,” and won’t hesitate to remind someone that they owe her. She can get a little disrespectful sometimes, but it’ll take her some time to apologize for being rude. Dawn is rowdy, yet loving, and can be a little aloof around newcomers; she is flirty when she can be, but not actually looking for a partner, maybe a friend.
Description: Dawn’s fur is soft and a mixture of light browns, tans, greys and creams. She has long legs and dainty feet.
Background: Dawn was born into the Black Forest Ridge Pack and competed with Apollo for the position of Beta when the new Alphas came. However, they split the ranking into a male and female section, and Dawn didn’t get the female Beta position. Instead, they stuck her as being a huntress, which she didn’t mind, but the high ranks –the Betas- got more advantages and were the Alphas’ favorites. She and Apollo didn’t get along for several months, but soon put aside their differences briefly when it came to dealing with the Town Dogs Pack that tried to take over their pack lands.

Buster saw Dragon on the ground."Dragon!"Buster thought angrily.Buster charged at Dawn leaping on her holding her down.He bared his sharp teeth growling."Nobody hurts my big brother!"Buster snapped.Buster bit at the female's neck ripping off some of the flesh but not killing her.Buster felt a huge push on his side.

A male of the pack,a Hunter like Dawn,named Midnight crashed into Buster.Midnight thought Dawn was too pretty to die."Get off Dawn!You little wimp!"Midnight shouted.Midnight leaped onto Rosebud.He rammed into Rose harshly."And you!You don't touch any of the Black Forest Ridge Pack members!My friends!My family!"Midnight was angry.He bit at Rose's scruff expecting a yelp from her.Instead he received a sharp claw reach to his face slashing it.

Rose swiped her paw at the wolf slashing his face."Get off me!****!"Rose rammed into some other wolves pinning them down biting their neck flesh tearing it off.She wanted no wolves to ever live on her land.Rose leaped into the air landing on three wolves.She bit into each one of the three wolves' necks tearing flesh off.

Snapdragon felt a harsh push on his side,pinning him down.He felt a large muzzle bite his neck.He yelped.He saw Buster come in and ram at the wolf biting the female."Get her little brother!"Dragon ran at four wolves,leaped into the air landing behind them.He wait until the four wolves turned around."Surprise!"Dragon hopped onto the wolves pinning them,biting them all.

One of the wolves,Clawface,a female felt the German Shepherd bite her."Get off me you wimp!"Clawface quickly kicked him off of her chest.She was angry.Clawface rammed into Heracles."Why hello there,Wimp!"She laughed and growled.Clawface bit his shoulder expecting a yelp from him.She wanted to heard a loud long yelp.

Heracles was suddenly pushed aside and rolled for a good five seconds in the snow before he came to a stop. When he looked up, the dog saw the lupine features of a Black Forest Ridge wolf sneering down at him. “Why, hello there, Wimp!”
He tried to scramble to his feet, but the beast sank her sharp teeth into his shoulder. Heracles inhaled though his nose, but that didn’t help but to fuel his wail of pain, not stop it. “Get off me!” he hollered and bared his teeth. The dog reached forward and bit down on the top of the wolf’s head.

Dawn managed a “thanks” to Midnight, her fellow hunter, when he saved her from being puppy chow. The female whirled around and immediately ran at Heracles. The dog wasn’t fast enough and was easily pinned underneath the heavier wolf. Dawn’s teeth found their target this time; the dog’s neck.
She was about rip off the flesh, hoping to cut into his jugular, but her eyes darted up to see yet another dog charging her. Dawn’s nostrils flared. This dog looked far too vicious to take down herself; he might kill her as soon as he ran into her.
The huntress tucked tail and ran off to join Midnight’s battle with who looked like the leader of the dogs, a female German shepherd. As she ran through the snow, Dawn caught glimpses of her friends and family getting mowed down by dog after dog, and her heart clenched. ’By the time this is over we’re going to need to rear pups in order to replace our wolves!’
She stopped suddenly to see her Alpha get pinned to the ground in front of her. She snarled and was about to charge the dog that had him down, but she wasn’t fast enough. The feral animal tore a deep gash into their leader’s neck and face. Dawn skidded to a stop, seeing the female Alpha’s lifeless body nearby. She gasped and held back a cry of anger, frustration, and fear.

Apollo’s ear caught Dawn’s gasp and he turned from his winning battle against some of the dogs to see that Dawn was standing in front of their dead Alphas. Either she was too frozen by fear and shock, or she just didn’t notice, but the dog that had slain their leaders. “Dawn! Move!”
Without another word, the Beta male bounded over to his friend. “Don’t you touch her you b******!” he howled and clamped his teeth around the enemy canine’s neck. Apollo used all of the strength he could to sling the dog around and slam him into the ground. There was a faint crack, muffled by the snow, as the dog’s back connected with the rock-hard snow and ice that had piled up on the ground.
The Beta barked at Dawn to signal her to follow him. “Wolves! Retreat!” There was no way he was about to stand around and see anymore of his brothers die in front of his eyes. Taking one last look to make sure Dawn was behind him, Apollo ran back toward the Black Forest Ridge’s inner territories. “I said: Re. Treat!”

Red growled quietly at Buster. 'Yes, I can see you being the Alpha....' Red said sarcastically as he, Buster, had NO experience what so ever. Red knew Buster wouldn't make a good alpha, he'd fail big time.

Nevada shook her head, then saw Dawn. "Hello, Dawn." Nevada rose an eyebrow, as she didn't really care for Dawn. "Where's the food?"

Midnight stood in front of Dawn."The food doesn't matter Nevada.All that matters is that our pack is safe."Midnight growled.Midnight kept walking away from the two females.He sighed wondering who will be the next alphas."Poor alphas..Witnessing their death..right in front of me.."Midnight thought.

Rosebud hadn't died just yet.All she had was a broken leg."I'll show them when I see them.."She thought furiously.Rose limped over to Buster."Buster?I've changed my mind.You'll be helper alpha instead."Rose walked away after she talked with Buster.Rose limped over to Red and nuzzled him.

Buster heard his name.He whined when he heard his big sister say he wasn't alpha.He walked over to Lucky with a sad expression."I'm not..alpha.."

"Um excuse me? The food DOES matter, we're all going to starve without mit. The pack isn't safe without food. Don't tell me that food ISN'T important." Nevada snarled, looking at her.

Dawn snorted and was about to retort with, 'Do you not see these bloody scars on my face, Nevada?' but sided against it and kept her mouth shut. Instead, she scurried past Apollo, who was leading the wolves back home, and made a beeline for her den. However, Midnight stood in front of her and Dawn couldn't help but growl slightly at him. 'Get out of the way,' she thought irritably.

Apollo watched as Dawn sidestepped Midnight and kept onward to her den. He heard what the other male wolf said to Nevada, and gave both of them a warning growl. "Don't start you two," he said and went off to his own rock that he kept watch on. He flopped down on it and lied his head on his crossed paws. The Beta's brow furrowed; "What now?" he thought aloud. "I know it’s my place to be the new Alpha, but…” Apollo trailed off and sighed very loudly. “I’m not ready. Not yet.” He whimpered and shifted into a new position. ’But you have to take up the responsibility, Apollo. I know I’m sounding a bit arrogant, but . I knew the Alphas better than anyone in this pack, and I proved to them I was worthy of taking their place next.'

Nevada rolled her eyes at them, not worrying about them as she wasn't hurt enough to die. "God. What the hell is taking them so long. With all injuries here they should at least care about something.." she growled.

Red shook his head. "Pups?" he asked his mate.

"The Alphas and the majority of our hunters are dead!"
Dawn trotted back up to where Nevada was lying. "And all you care about is food? To stuff your face with the meat of a caribou? Selfish!" she spat, fur rising slightly. However, Dawn wasn't looking for a fight -she had just gotten out of one alive- but the lower ranking wolf knew she might be in for one. She had no right, no matter the circumstances, no matter how angry she was, to speak down on her superior like that.
The huntress stood her ground still. Half of her was worried that Apollo would show up and put her in her place along with that half wolf, Nevada, whom Dawn absolutely despised right about now. 'How dare she!' the young wolf thought, eyes never leaving the Utonagan mix's figure, brow furrowing even more. 'I'll be d***ed if she's to become an Alpha of this pack!

Description: Huey's fur was once a rich chestnut-yellow color, but that was in his younger days; it is now a dingy gold-brown color. His eyes are pale brown now. There are paled hairs around his muzzle, eyes, neck and chest, and his paws, a signature of his old age. . His bones aren’t what they used to be and creak every now and then –more often than ever- due to the dog’s old age.
Background: Huey was raised as a house dog in the town the previous dogs of the Town pack had lived in. He was originally raised as a stud to be breed and strengthen his champion show dog bloodline. Huey was loved by everyone in the the small community, but after they were all murdered, Huey was forced to join a nomadic group of some of the now-homeless dogs. After they had attacked the Black Forest Ridge Pack's wolves (Huey was not part of that ambush, in fact, he was very much against it) and lost, Huey has seen countless dogs die from frostbite and starvation. Now, at his old age, he still lives with the pack of dogs, but disagrees with how they are lead. He believed Rose could "do so much better than what she was doing now", but the old dog has yet to say that to his Alpha's face.

Rose limped over to Buster."Thank you little brother.."A smile started to form on Rose's skinny black lips.She nuzzled her youngest brother and nuzzled her little brother Snapdragon.Rose nuzzled both Buster and Snapdragon hoping they'd be okay.

Buster nuzzled his brother and sister."Your welcome..big sis.."Buster missed being called little brother.He smiled,his pale lips covering his teeth.He closed his eyes and kept nuzzling them with love and care."I hope you guys are alright.."Buster thought.

Snapdragon nuzzled his siblings affectionately."Rose?Are you alright?How's your leg?"He asked looking at his sister.Even though Snapdragon was younger than Rosebud he was slightly taller.

Midnight looked over at Nevada."Don't you care that our alphas died?That we're all injured?That we all could've died?!"Midnight growled for he knew all Nevada cared about was the food and not her fellow pack members."You might not even care that our alphas are dead!"Midnight growled his silky,sleek,black fur bristled with anger.
