Rex had gotten a good bit of tutoring on adapting to the civilized pokemon's way of life when he walked out a few hours later. He still didn't know how to read and write 9that would take some time), but he could make his way around fairly well. "That was helpful...so, what now?"

Erebus looked at Rex and said "I am glad that you found the lessons informative. All we have to really do now is face the gym. That's what was on my list but we can do whatever you want here for a day or two first. That way you can enjoy your new life and see what you have really learned in those lessons."

Erebus smiled at Rex's shyness and said "You don't have to be shy about not knowing much about what a gym is, Rex. It is only natural to be curious about something and to get as much information about something before you decide to do it. There are 8 gyms throughout each continent that measures a Pokemon's strength as a team and individually by battling the leaders of said gym. These gyms usually teach younger Pokemon how to fight before they start on their journey. I never was able to do any such thing as I was alone my entire life and no one wanted anything to do with me as I am so different from everyone else. However, these gyms progressively get harder as you advance in the league and earn gym badges as a way of proof of your skills. There are 5 continents that I know of that have there own leagues and gyms. The continent that we are on now is known as Kanto as you should know and it's league is known as the Indigo League. There are also Johto, Hoeen, Sinnoh, and Unova. All of these are places that I personally want to travel and explore as well as compete in for each league."

Rex listened intently to the whole description and nodded slowly. "Ok, I think I got it...and sorry for being timid...I guess it's just my personality. The other Poochyena didn't like that too much..." he said, looking a bit hurt by the memories.

Erebus sighed and said sorrowfully "I'm sorry for bringing up painful memories but remember they are just memories. They don't have to painful if you don't let them. And don't worry about being timid. You will be more brave by the end of our journey. You want to call it a day and pick up tomorrow? Or do you want to explore a little of the city?"

Erebus looked at Rex and said "No. I'm not tired but not sure what to do. Well. I actually need to go to the Poke Mart and get supplies. Probably get a couple more of those Revival Herbs and some move enhancing items. Would you like to get anything while I am there and would you like to accompany me?"

Rex blinked, looking them over carefully. He'd watched everything so he'd know how to do it in the future if need be. He was curious about everything. He sniffed the glasses. "Um...what are they? I've never seen something like them before."

Erebos demonstrated how to wear the Black Glasses and said "I most likely will get them once I evolve as well. They strengthen your moves. You will get a weird feeling at first when you use moves like Bite because it strengthens that move and makes it more powerful." He took off the glasses and held them out to Rex to take and said "There yours if you want them. I'm getting the Metal Coat to strengthen my Iron Tail. It will be a deciding move for this particular gym because the gym's leaders are only Rock types and Iron Tail has a type advantage as you should know."
