the winning design for Alma was

BHB's design

now as i worded it wrong for alma's voting i asked a member not involved about it

BHB's design will be used but drawn by another artist
i will be asking kirada to draw it if not troll has offered

once that image is done another member will be asked to judge how close the design is to BHB's if its all good Alma will be uploaded

i know its alot for alma but its all i could think of to make her fair.

both BHB and the other artist will be credited on almas page like so

That seems fair

So, perhaps we could clarify the rules for voting?

The way I understand it, we're voting for the design we like the best/feel suits the character/description of the character the best, not the drawing we like the best? Or are we voting for the drawing and the design?

Ok, here's my entry for Storm:

Storm

I knew he was piebald, but apart from that I don't really know much about him, so I went with Rain's markings. Since she's a tovero, and Sierra is a sabino, I figured Storm must be a tovero as well. I based his pinto patches on his daughter's, but made them somewhat different so he isn't just a carbon copy of Rain. I also gave him a slightly Roman nose, like his daughter, and blue eyes like hers

I'm with Loren, for a long time before I could render I was using linearts people ignored me. And People do choose the best render for contest winners instead of looking at the actual desigh like if Dkrvice(I do not have anything against her just an example)entered a contest I'm SURE that she would win because she is very good at rendering. Because people want pretty pictures that are smoothly done and not everyone can provide that. Yes I admit it is nice having pictures done. Because look at HayleyWolf she is FANTASTIC at desighs but cannot render so she cannot enter this contest in away only people who are decent at rendering can enter this contest which is rather unfair on other members.

Okay, I can see where you two are coming from but let me mildly explain Blaze's choice to not allow lineart colorings...

As much as some people come up with good designs, a lot of people (I am NOT pointing fingers here) tend to not give credit and don't use linearts that belong to them. Besides we're mostly using design it's easier to go "Design by ________ Image made by ________" instead of going "Line-art by ___________ Design by _________ Image by __________" Also using a lineart isn't putting too much effort into entering, using your own renders and drawings just show how much effort you put into a piece of work instead of just slapping something onto someone elses work...

They're also trying to determine who has the best design for a set character instead of who has the best render... This ISN'T a contest of Rendering Skills, this is a contest of who has the closer design to particular characters and which design the people of Animation Source like the most..

I hope I scratched the surface to explaining why they're not allowing line-art works ^ ^

I agree that this is supposed to be a design, not image contest. If you didn't mean it then you should state it in the rules before. And character image with chosen design can always be done by someone else, like it happened with Alma.

I too agree. It is the design that really matters. No matter what the picture looks like we are all choosing the best design.

Okay, guys what I said was to explain things so I'll make it SIMPLER and because I'm going to take the training wheels off a bit...

Blaze didn't allow linearts for more than one reason some of these being:
-It's simpler to go "Image by -user- Design by -user-"
-Effort is the key here, it doesn't matter if it looks like dragon dung, it matters on the EFFORT put into it
-Design is based on how accurate you can get on the books description
-This is NOT about quantity
