Max lowered his head a little in an apologetic gesture. "Uh, sorry, Twilight," he said quietly. After a few seconds, Max looked back up into Twilight's blue eyes and couldn't help but offer a small smile.

Calypso had managed to drift off into a light sleep as well, but soon she was kicking her legs and growling as if she was being attacked by someone. The female's brows furrowed and relaxed ever now and then and her lip curled into a snarl.

[i[Finally, they've stopped[/i] Ghost thought and soon he was able to close his eyes in peace.

Twilight smiled."It's fine...I thought you were a lion or something...."She said and smiled.Thunder got up and carried Skylar to the den.Skylar whimpered in her sleep.

Max gave a sift chuckle. "I uh, though you might be one, too," he said and felt his cheeks grow warm from the embarrassing statement. "Er, uh, anyway, Twilight," he sat down in front of her. "What brings you to the center of the camp this late?"

Twilight shrugs."I don't know...."she lied knowing he could tell she was lying.She laid down in front of him but rolled on her back and looked at the stars.

"Really?" Max asked, but it came out more as a statement than a question. He had caught her lie, but he decided to let it slide. The male wolf lied on his stomach and followed Twilight's gaze skyward to gaze at the stars. He tried to silently count them, but eventually lost track of the clusters he counted after ten minutes.

Ghost awoke with a start; his eyes had a faint green glow to them and he shut them wearily. Groaning slightly, he stood up and climbed outside of the den and stretched. It was still night when he opened his eyes again, the glow far gone. The shaman wolf's eyes were hooded and tired looking with lack of sleep and Ghost sat down with a yarn and tried to recall what kind of dream, or nightmare, had awoken him from his slumber.

Twilight smiled and turned to look to him."No...I don't...Couldn't sleep after what had happen today.."she said with a sigh.

What happened today? Maximus thought and tilted his head at his Alpha's statement. Did she mean the howling? No, she probably didn't. More than likely she meant some event from earlier. Feeling like he was about to become annoying with his questions, Max swallowed and asked, "You mean with the mountain lions?"

All he could remember was dreaming about the same pack of mountain lions from earlier slaughtering his pack. Just recalling the dream made Ghost shiver uncontrollably. Was it really that bad? Ghost had never shrived like that except for the time he was a little puppy watching his mother and siblings get pelted with bullets from a hunting craft in the skies. Heaving a heavy sigh, the shaman slowly lied down and tried to reach into the deepest parts of his mind to conjure up more on his nightmarish dream.

Twilight looked at him."Yea......"she said.As is started to get a little colder she shivered a bit."So...What were you howling about?"she asked....why did you ask that stupid!You know what he was howling about.she said to herself.

"I, er..." Max paused and averted his eyes to the forest behind Twilight. He had to make up a lie, and quick. "Uh, just being a wild wolf and stuff" he side and added a sheepish grin and mentally face palmed. Whoa, GREAT lie, Max! he scolded himself. 'Just being a wild wolf?' You sound really intelligent.

Twilight smirked."Oh."she said...She perked her ears up and jumped up....It was spring and the males were every where trying to steal the females from the males.But since she was not taken yet she would have to find someone and fast...She smelt the air and thought males.She growled and turned to the dark forest...

At that time, Max felt his fur bristle and he quickly padded to Twilight's side. Whatever she was growling at, Max wanted to make sure it wouldn't harm his Alpha or any other pack members. His sharp nose caught the small of other male wolves in the are and there was no way he was allowing them to get anywhere near twilight. The large wolf let loose a snarl and his brow furrowed.

Calypso found her den out in the woods suddenly uncomfortable and she walked back to her official den in the center of the Vanished Dream's pack territory. Before she could flop down in front of it, she spotted Ghost looking rather dazed. Calypso was very tired, but that look her friend had...it concerned her. "Ghost...G-Ghost?" she called through a yawn.

Upon hearing his name, Ghost turned his attention to Calypso to his left. She stood on wobbly legs and looked sleepy.

"What's wrong with you? You look...you look a little dazed. You okay?" Calypso slowly trotted up to the white shaman.

"Yes." No.

Twilight growled and stood besides Max....Soon a male came out...Twilight knew who it was and hated that wolf...."Well hello Twilight."Tornado said.Twilight snarled at him."Get away Tornado."she snapped."Well this is my pack."he said."Not anymore."she said.

Max faltered for a split second; he quickly glanced from the other wolf, Tornado, and looked at Twilight with a confused expression. Then he turned back to Tornado and started to size the guy up. From the few seconds of calculation, Maximus guessed that he had about a 50/50 chance against Tornado.

"Stop lying," Calypso said and stretched. "C'mon, you can tell me what's wrong. Right?"

Ghost kept his mouth shut and simply shook his head 'no'.

Tornado smirked."I may have left you but that doesn't mean you still dont love me."He said.Twilight snarled."Come any closer to this pack or you will be dead."she snapped."You wont be able to get out...I have the place surrounded..And if you or anyone moves their all dead!Even...Skylar!"He yelled.Twilight snarled and wanted to attack.."What do you want?"Twilight snapped.Tornado laughed...."You.."he said sternly.Twilight growled."No."She said with one word.

Max instantly stepped in front of Twilight in order to protect her just in case this guy tried anything funny. "Tornado," he said, matching the same stern tone the other wolf had used seconds earlier. "How about you and your followers just leave? We don't want any trouble."
