When Rachel and Sean started back up again she snapped, unable to deal with this any longer. "Shut up! I swear to goodness you two can't get along worth crap! If either of you starts this again I'll just shoot one of you and put and end to all this bickering! I'm fed up with it. We're here to work together as a team but all you two can seem to do is argue! Can't we ride to the mall and play I-spy or something like normal freakin' Americans!?" She exclaimed, knuckles whitening where she was now gripping the steering wheel. She couldn't help it. Even Jayce didn't argue as much as Sean and Rachel or Sean and Katie did. Veronica took a deep breath before Jayce yawned, breaking the silence.

"Oh, not act all high and might," Rachel replied, keeping her voice steady despite how frayed her nerves were. "You're what? Two maybe three years older than me? I can guarantee you that I've been through worse h*ll than you so don't even try to tell me you know more about life's hardships." She turned in her seat to completely face Veronica and scoffed, "Like you would be able to shoot either of us. You can't even kill a zombie to save yourself and your son. I doubt you even know how to pull the trigger, so don't make a threat if you can't keep it." Rachel straightened herself back in her seat, crossing her arms tightly across her chest and slumping in the cushion. "And if you haven't noticed, those times of being a normal American family are long gone. We're all here together because it betters our own personal survival. That's all. We're not a 'team.' We're just travelling together in hopes that we can outrun each other and live another day."

She shucked her shot gun, the sound rung out through the hummer. "She may not shoot ya'll but I will." She snarled from the backseat, Jayce scootching as far away from her as possible. Pretty soon he had opened the door and jumped out, racing over and being by Sean's side. Katie smirked, "The best place for the boy, right next to Sean. The only guy around this wasteland." She said quietly, looking forward. "Veronica I swear if you don't go-" She began, only to get Veronica all hype with her too. Veronica glared at her, pulling the hummer up to the mall finally and stopping. Katie rolled her eyes and nodded, jumping out and putting the bag of weapons onto Sean's shoulder, holding her new gun. Zombies began flooding in, Katie shooting multiple rounds into the crowd of flesh eating zombies.

Sean shook his head, not caring anymore at this point. He repositioned the bag more comfortable on his back, picking up Jayce with the other hand. Sean shot off round after round until all the zombies were dead. He hurried over to the door and propped it open, still not saying anything to anyone. Especially not Rachel or Katie. Veronica and Jayce were the only two that hadn't gotten on his last nerves while taking the car ride. Deep down he did feel that Rachel could've went through something worse but he also doubted it. If she knew how I feel everyday... He thought, getting caught up on that one thought for a few more minutes before blinking the thought away. He wanted Stacey.

"You seriously need to stop wasting bullets," Rachel said simply to Katie, referring to her previous shot, before climbing out of the Humer as well. As the zombies swarmed, she only shot when she needed to and stayed behind Sean and Katie who were firing off rounds. When she ducked inside the mall, she had only used five shots, which she quickly replaced as soon as she was through the door.

Sean still had Jayce on his arm. Jogging towards the back of the mall where an empty flight of stairs were. If they knew where they were going, they would be following him. Sean jogged up the stairs and came to a door with a chain on it. He took his pistol and blasted the chain off the door, pushing it open and walking out onto the roof. He finally sat Jayce and the bag of weapons down. Sean walked over to a vent and tore it off, digging down inside of it and grabbing a black bookbag. Inside the bookbag was guns, amo, knives, a hand gernade, lighters, flashlight, rope, and his badge. He couldn't believe he still had that badge. He had never remembered bringing it. Sean dug down deep into the bag and grabbed a small blanket out, laying it down on the gravel so that Jayce wouldn't have to sit on the hard pebbles. Sean took a deep breath and dug down into the side pocket, pulling out a pair of binoculars. He went to the edge of the roof and watched as zombies continued to try and follow the group inside. Shaking his head.

Rachel placed the revolver back inside hits holster and glanced around the deserted mall for a moment. It was surreal seeing all these stores completely empty. The once glossy floor was covered in dust and dirt; the display windows were cracked and shattered. She noticed that inside the stores everything was knocked aside and scattered across the ground. Electronics that people used to pay hundreds of dollars for stood untouched or laid broken. Shoes spilt out of another stores archway, and Rachel briefly wandered how effective of a weapon a tall pair of heels might be. She was just about to pick one up to test out later when she noticed everyone following Sean up a pair of stairs. He obviously only had on destination in mind wasn't making any side trips. Unable to deny that if Sean was looking for it, it was probably worth finding, Rachel quickly grabbed the heeled shoe and ran up the flight of steps as well. When she reached the roof, she took a deep breath of the fresh hair, not realizing how musty the mall was until she was no longer inside it. "How did you know that was there?" she asked Sean critically.

Sean took a deep breath before rubbing his eyes and setting the binocular's down. He had all he needed to survive right here with him. Although he would have to go out and get some food for his group. When Rachel asked him the question he stood up, tucking the loose stuff down back into the bag. "The bookbag? I brought it here." He said and looked at the pockets again. Pulling his hand out he could feel a piece of crumpled up paper, grabbing it and pulling it out. Curiously he ulled the paper open and smoothed it to the best of his ability, seeing it was a picture of him and Stacey together. That picture nearly made his heart shatter as he smiled slightly and put the picture in his pocket. He'd never loose that picture. "That's not all I brought up here." He added on, walking over to a bigger vent and opening it, he pulled a cooler out of it. Filled with waters and ice. "Do you want one?" He asked, picking up a dripping wet bottle of water. The water seeped through his fingers, making his hand cold.

She stayed close to him the whole time, from the truck to the roof. Only when she cleared the dusty steps and made it onto the roof that she realized she had no need to be right next to Sean anymore. Jayce pulling the blanket over to the wall, spreading it against the gravel and laying on it. He yawned over and over again, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. Veronica sat down for a moment, "What's wrong bubby you sleepy?" She asked, rubbing her son's back. He nodded, eyes closing. A few minutes went by before Veronica stood up and quietly walked away, knowing her son was now asleep. She caught a glimpse of the picture Sean had stuffed in his pocket, "That's your wife..." She stated, making it sound like a question. "She's pretty." She complimented simply, hoping to start a conversation.

Rachel wanted to press her questioning further, still wondering when Sean had been to this place before and how he even had access to these types of supplies even so soon after the rise of the zombies, but then again, she couldn't be bothered enough to actually ask. She took the canteen, staring at it skeptically. She wasn't one to drink anything that she hadn't come across and sanitized herself. "Are you sure it's safe to drink these?" she asked incredulously, grimacing at the container and holding it an arm's length. "You don't know what's happened up here since you stored it."

Sean glanced at Veronica, "Thanks." He said and sighed inwardly. He noticed how much Rachel was looking at the water bottle he had handed her. Sean was slightly amused by how skeptical she was. "They're safe. I promise." He said, reaching down and picking himself up one. He unscrewed the cap slowly and took a few big gulps of the icy water. "I didn't store them long ago, the water is fresh." He said. Digging into the bookbag again he grabbed a walkie-talkie. He looked around before slipping off his jacket, only to reveal he had a bullet proof vest on under it. He hated those things but they did come in handy. He slipped the vest off and turned the walkie-talkie on, "Mike I know you can hear me, where are you? i'm already at the mall and I don't see you anywhere." He said, letting go of the button and scratching his cheek. A few moments dragged on before a reply came.
"I'm coming, I'll be there in a few minutes ight?"
"Yeah well hurry up, I'm the only man up here and I need to talk to you." He said and grinned, placing the walkie-talkie down. He scanned the empty streets for his best friend.
"Wait,wait,wait. There's a bunch of girls up there and your complaining!? Dawg you crazy!"
Sean laughed, "Ight man, whatever." He joked. Relaxing.

Rachel eyed Sean carefully as he took a gulp of water and after few moments of him still standing on his feet steadily, she finally unscrewed the cap of the canteen. She was about to take a tentative sip when her attention caught on the walkie-talkie Sean spoke into. Rachel hadn't see communication like that in years, ever since the telephone wires were knocked down and cell phones could no longer find a signal. She quickly tried to hid the surprise on her face and merely said, "So someone else is joining the party? Lovely." She rolled her eyes as she finally drunk the water.

Sean looked over his shoulder at her, "He's a good friend of mine." He said, just then zombies caught his attention. They were all running towards something, no, after someone. Sean stood up, looking around and grabbing the rope out of his bookbag. He undid the knots and waited, seeing his best friend turning and shooting the zombies.
"Sean!" His friend screamed towards the mall's roof. Knowing that he couldn't open the door, it'd lead the zombies right through the glass and they'd all be screwed. Sean blinked and tossed the end of the rope down, his buddy grabbing it and holding on tightly as Sean began heaving him up. It didn't take long for Sean to pull his buddy up, veins in his forehead and muscles rippling under his v-neck. Sean grabbed his friend's hand, surprised that it took him only minutes to pull him up. Mike took Sean's hand and pulled himself up, landing on his feet. "Thanks man." Mike said, dusting off. Sean nodded, glad he was up there with him. "Mike this is Rachel, Veronica, Katie, and Jayce. Everybody else, Mike." He said walking over to a vent and plopping down on the gravel, feeling the small stones shift under his weight.

She put on a warm smile as she went over and shook Mike's hand, unable to believe though that Sean was really that strong enough to pull a fully grown man up the side of a mall. "It's nice to meet you Mike." She said softly, feeling how small and soft her hands felt compaired to his. Of course, Veronica had always been smaller than any man she had ever met. Especially those who worked for the FBI, like Sean and Mike did. Veronica drew in a deep breath, trying to force herself not to shake his hand anymore. Finally she stopped, dropping her hands down by her sides. Katie in the background cleaning a weapon and mumbling things under her breath. Typical.

Mike flashed her a smile as he shook her hand. "Nice to meet you too." He said simply. Scratching his forehead. Mike was wearing faded blue jeans, black boots, black long sleeves with the sleeves rolled up to the crook of his arm, and he had cornrows going down his head. Mike was about 6"4, give or take some inches. Sean touched Mike's arm with the back of his hand and motioned him over to the wall, "Did you find anyone?" Sean asked, peering down at the zombies.
"I couldn't get to the warehouse a few blocks over man, but nothing but corpses was before that." Mike replied with a sigh.
Sean let out a deep sigh, scratching his head and stuffing his hands down into his pockets. After a few minutes Sean finally shrugged his shoulders, "Okay, that settles it. I'll be right back." He said, walking over to the bag and grabbing a Colt M16 Rimfire Long Rifle. He held onto the gun strap, walking over and grabbing his jacket. He slipped it on before pulling the gun onto his shoulder.
"What!? Sean no!" Michael said, standing in his friend's way.
"I have to, what if someone is down there in distress?"
"Sean that is suicide man, there are zombies flooding the streets down there man, I'm telling you." Mike insisted. Finally Sean drew in a deep breath, "What if it was you?" He said, Mike stopped dead in his tracks. Knowing that Sean was serious about going down there. "I'm going with you then." He said, walking over and grabbing an AK47. Sean nodded, "Rachel, I'll be back but until then your in charge. Leave one of the windows downstairs open but lock the door that leads up here, I'll knock if I need to get in." He said finally, not giving her a chance to respond before he and Mike went towards the door, walking down the stairs and nearing the doors.
