I yawned some, waiting for my brother to come back. I couldn't help bu not worry about him, he's the biggest male I've ever known. Besides Mango of course. Romeo and Chloe suddenly wandered off and now they were out of my sight. I chuffed to them, calling their names but I got no reply.

I chased a lizard, Chloe hot on my tail. All of the sudden I slammed into an older male lion, that wasn't uncle Brutus. Chloe slammed into me, both of us falling on our backs. I looked up at the big male, ready to scream. Chloe was gazing at the lion, I could tell because it felt like her heart was racing.

I couldn't help but call for my mother. I was to scared and Chloe was to scared to push or make move so I did what any cub would do. Call for help of course. Momma! I exclaimed. My mother Samantha leaping over bushes and running towards us. When she finally skidded to a stop she was standing over us, ears pinned flat. She was protective.

I waited, ready for a battle. It was so obvious that I was a little bit unsure because my brother wasn't here. But that's when I caught sight of his eyes. Just like my dad's eyes, very pretty. I tilted my head slightly but growled, turning and leading my kids back into the underbrush.

I finally came back, catching my sister's smell. I pinpointed where she was and walked over to her, making sure not to scare her. I flopped down, my paws burning from walking across the hot savannah. I was so tired.

I nodded, my cubs were getting sleepy. They were yawning and looking for a place to sleep next to me. I loved my cubs with everything I had. They were my all and my everything. When my brother came up I stood, looking him over. There were a couple lions that looked like him, but for some reason I couldn't tell some of them from the others.

I nodded again, "Samantha." I spoke in a regular tone, my brother flopping down next to me. If he wanted to be known, he'd already have introduced himself. I sat down, my back paws tired and my legs weak from standing so much. Things were just not how I had imagined them to be.
