Pete sat forward and looked out the porthole and out at the land. A town. No, a city. Pete layed back down and thought for a while. He didn't smile at all, why would he? Pete gave her a quick smile just to make sure he didn't seem heartless. Pete fixed his pillow and got up. He didn't mean to hit Bethany when he stood up. Pete went on the upper deck and knocked on Jack's door. "Land 30 miles." Pete heard rustling then Jack bursted through the door, "Land!?" Jack repeated excited. Pete nodded once. Jack smiled deeply, "There I shall wed Bethany." Pete rolled his eyes and walked away. Yeah right. Not according to what Bethany said.

Pete heard her screaming and ran over to the side of the boat. He reached down and tried to grab her. Coming up a little short. He leaned over farther and finally grabbed her hand. "Bethany, you have to let go of the boat. I've got you." Pete looked down at Bethany. A big wave smashing him in the face. Pete shook off the water and got a better grip on her slipping hand. Pete waited for her to let go before he pulled some. The water on their hands made Pete's hand slipped. Pete took a deep breath and pulled back. Hoping not to flip off the side of the boat himself. He could hear Jack coming but ignored it. Who cares!? Pete tried to hold on the best he could.

Pete yelled to her as she slipped from his grasp. Pete tried to grab her hand again but failed to. Pete ran to the lower deck and grabbed a rope. He waited till she surfaced and lassoed a rope around her waiste. Pete began pulling her up. He knew the rope was hard to it probably was hurting her at the moment, thats why he was trying to pull her up. Pete smiled some and grabbed her, pulling her over the railing and holding her for a minute or two. Jack ran up, "What's this!?" He demanded. Pete looked over at Jack. "Nows not the time Jack." He said and sat Bethany down. Sitting next to her, he put his arm around her. Jack walked away. Unsure what to say.
