"I guess we can!" Willow, a little taken aback that the girl responded, smiled harder. "Willow! Willow Hill." she introduced herself with her full name, "I respond to most anything, though," she tacked onto the end, breaking eye contact once it became a little bit awkward. She looked down for a few seconds, "Sorry," she muttered to herself.

She readjusted the duffel bag on her shoulders and started following Ash so they could go look for a place to deposit their bags,

"Hey, uhh, Jared, you wanna come too?" she asked the boy who sat next to her on the logs, pausing a bit to remember his name. She waited patiently, holding the strap of the bag to try and lessen its weight on her shoulder for the time being.

"I bet we can find a place in those cabins!" she pointed over towards them after a few seconds of silence.

Announcement

There are two final people joining the contest. Welcome .Artemis. and Moki Hunter to camp!

I say these are the two final ones because I am officailly no longer accepting anyone, at all, at any time, for any reason. These two reached me through PM and I thought that as long as the first round wasn't over, they would be able to join.

The bio forms for these characters can be found on the first page. I edited them into my second post, just to keep all the bios on one page and making it more oganized for me. Thank you two for joining us and I hope you have a wonderful time here at camp. All the rules and intructions still apply to both of you, so I would suggest getting your posts in soon!

Alexis Chortie's parents were always running early. That meant she had to be to. That is why she stood in a musky cabin. All the wooden panels were covering the screen windows. No glass. Lexi opened the shutters and squinted her bright blue eyes as the sun streamed in. You could see the dust particles floating around in the air. She tossed all her bright colored suitcases onto the bottom bunk of one of the bunk beds. There were two in this cabin. So Lexi was prepared to share with three other girls. After a while she grew tired of staring around at the open camp ground. She knew no one would be there for hours.

This lead her to go out horse back riding, two counslers went along. It was fun and relaxing but eventually the three had to head back to the main camp ground. The female counsler was in her forties and had red hair, that was frizzy and tied back. The male counsler was young and strapping. He looked like he may have been 18, of course Lexi knew he wasn't but he looked it. She spent most the trip flirting with him. She flirted with everyone.

As the neared the campers Lexi's long wavy blonde hair swayed behind her as she bounced on the back of a white mare. When they came to a stop, despite Lexi being able to get off a horse on her own, she asked the counsler for help. Flirting as he has his hands on her hips to get her to the ground. Alexis had on very short shorts, bright pink, showing off her tan skin. She also had on a white tank top on that wasn't long enough. It showed off her blue belly ring and a tatto on her lower back.

The tatto was a pair of tigers. A white and orange one, with their tails interlocked in the middle. The two stretched out and for eyes the tiger's had microdermials. She had designed the tatto herself. She loved art and was very creative. Their was also another story behind the tatto, but very few people had got Lexi to reveal it.

Lexi's naturally bright colored lips turned into a bright smile. She tossed her hair and was glad to see all the campers. Finally people were here! She couldn't decide who to talk to first. She gazed at the fellow teenagers and hoped someone would come to her. She had a feeling that the people here might not be as out going at her... But maybe they were. Or maybe they would change? Who knew. Lexi was just happy to be out in the camping world again. She enjoyed the outdoors and she took a deep breath of the fresh air.

"Hello!" She chimed into the clearing, not minding who heard, and simply hopeing someone would join a conversation. She also understood however that they might be busy. She realized that there didn't seem to be any other counslers here yet. Only the ones she had been riding with. It was a good thing that they had decided to come back when they did. Lexi silently wondered who she would be sharing her cabin with. She bite her lip and twirled her blonde hair around her slender finger.

Markus nearly lost his footing when he heard a voice call out a greeting and looked up to watch Alexsis for a second. He nibbled on the inside of his cheek, something he did when contemplating what he should do. Should he go say something? If so, what?

'Even if I did reply, wha would I say next?' He pondered this as he stuffed his hands in his jeans pockets. Taking a deep breath, he remembered how he told his mother he'd at least try to make friends. Maybe this was his chance. Slowly, he walked up to stand a few meters away from her, looking bashfully at the ground before building up the courage to look up at her face. "Hi," he began, giving a small smile, "I'm Markus...and you are?" He was a bit impressed with how calm he sounded, being socially challenged. He ran his fingers through his hair absentmindedly, counting how long she took to reply. He couldn't help but notice how tanned she was compared to him. 'She must be out in the sun a lot. Must think I live underground.'He thought.

Although Trey had no problems talking to other people, at the present moment, he had no intentions of doing so anyway. He was attempting to repair a small glitch in his mobile wi-fi device, so that way he wouldn't have to deal with it later. He should have known that trying to pack a bunch of his equipment all in one bag would mess up one thing or another. Oh well. At least he managed to bring the essentials. Toothbrush, food, computer, wi-fi, and you know. Everything that goes with that. His parents were chumps for not noticing how bulky his backpack had been, but what did he care? All the better for him.

His parents had originally sent him here to get away from all the equipment, not to encourage sneaking it in. "Try and get outdoors, Trey. Stop using the internet all the time!" They would constantly shout. Well, he was certainly outdoors. Though the internet would have to stay. This camp seemed fun enough, though, despite its lack of technology. Just one more wire... There! Good as new. Now he could relax and know everything was ready to go. Hm... perhaps he should get acquainted with some of the campers? He couldn't be a loner with his tech this entire time. How boring would that be? He decided to approach someone - anyone, for that matter.

He got up from the tree he had been sitting against and slung his backpack around his right shoulder - carefully - so that his stuff wouldn't get damaged. He walked towards where it looked like a few others were. Most of them seemed too out of it to talk much, so instead he tried to focus on the smaller groups who were already making conversation. There to his right was one of the early birds. He had gotten there not too long ago, though she had been probably the first one here. Some pale skinned guy with black hair was attempting to greet her after she had shouted "Hello!" out to the whole grounds. He also saw two other girls, one probably a year younger than the other, looking for something. Probably a place to put their stuff since they were carrying their bags with them and nearby the cabins. He decided this was his best bet. Besides, he needed somewhere to put his bag as well so he didn't have to worry about damaging it anymore.

"Hey," he greeted when he had reached them. "Have you guys found out where we put our stuff yet?" He wore a smile on his face that was purely friendly, though he wasn't the most outgoing of people. He just found it easier to talk to others than most of the teens here probably did - judging from the lack of conversation.

Jack looked at the other teenagers gathering in the campsite and trying to make some conversations. Most of them seemed more or less struggling to socialize with others. He yawned, and continued sending text messages. His parents wouldn't have liked that. They wanted him to get out, make some more friends, but, now that Jack thought about it, it's a shame they didn't give any instructions on how to begin a proper conversation. "I could really use my mom around there...She would help me find some proper peeps here..." Jack thought and quietly chuckled.

His thoughts were interrupted by some girl's voice behind him. He looked back, and saw one of the other camp attendants arriving to the campsite. Well, not arriving, probably coming back. He looked at the tan blonde girl with a slight smile on his face. She looked like a friendly and outgoing type of person, also quite happy to be there, unlike most of the other teens here.

Jack sent one more text message, then locked the phone and put it back to the pocket of his jeans. He then slowly stood up, and made his way to the girl who seemed to know her way around here already. He was actually worried about starting a conversation with her, because he thought she would pay all the unwanted attention to him. As much as Jack tried to avoid and ignore it, he knew the way girls reacted to him and his appearance, and how much annoying attention he got from them. But, this girl seemed like she didn't really care, or she wouldn't. Or...Maybe she did?

The tall tan boy walked up and stood near the other two who were surrounding the girl. "Hello there," he said with a wide smile," My name's Jack. Jack Kayden. And yours?" he asked the blonde, then continued on. "Anyway, is there anyone who could show us our cabins, roommates and stuff? You seem to know a bit about this place. " he asked quietly.

"Nice to meet ya, Jared." Katherine sang, her lips curled into a wide grin. The skinny girl took a quick look at her bags, lying sloppily on the short grass just a bit away from her. Katie eventually turned back to the potential new friend sitting on the bench, ready to listen to whatever he would say.
"Well in my opinion it could be better," Katie answered immediately as she heard him speak, "It has nice cabins and a nice landscape, me thinks, but I sort of really didn't want to go here." She furrowed her dark, prominent eyebrows. The short teen waved her hand around a tad, not sure where to place it, eventually landing it onto the side of her narrow waist, covered by a bright, orange tank top.

Katherine took a minute to look around, landing her eyes onto two girls talking with each other. The two eventually moved closer towards her and the guy she just met. The shorter girl called out the name of the teen sitting on the bench. They seemed to be searching for a place to put their bags in, well, at least that's what Katie overheard. Changing her scowl to a friendly smile she spat out, " We definitely should go with them! I've been wondering where we put our bags, anyway," she quickly rushed down to pick up her two bags - they both were rather light and therefore easy to handle. Not waiting for any sort of response Katie began following the two girls.

She stopped in her tracks as she noticed another camper approaching the girls. Not knowing wherever the two actually found a place to store their bags in, she left the answer to them and kept quiet.

Dev silently chewed the inside of his lip and narrowed his icy eyes as he gazed around observantly. He smiled to himself as he saw others trying to make conversation, he noticed that no one tried to talk to him. He glanced down at his feet, and shuffled the toe of his vans in the dirt, kicking clouds up around him. He noticed Willow, a girl that just came, trying to figure out where to put her stuff. Should I follow them? he thought as he watched the small group break away. He second guessed himself and stayed put.

Then he noticed another girl coming in, Lexi. She announced her 'hello' to everyone and Dev couldn't help but crack a small grin at her outgoing personality, he also couldn't help but notice the tinge of flirtyness along with her. He couldn't help himself, as all boys do, he gave her the quick up down, noticing her carefully places outfit. Dev folded his aviators in the V of his shirt and folded his arms over his chest, glancing at the other people around too. He was hoping that this would be a summer to remember, maybe spending the whole thing at a camp wasn't the best idea. But the girls were cute, and the guys seemed like fun, so what would be the problem? He shifted his weight to one foot, folding his arms even tighter over his chest, noticing how uncomfortable that tree was on his back.

He saw Markus trying to make conversation with the girl, and Jack too. He seemed to be about the same height as Dev, which was a bit of a relief. He also saw Trey tagging along with the people trying to find the cabin. Dev glanced down at his feet, checking out his bags which he really wished he could drop off somewhere so he could 'socialize'. Watching the awkward attempts at people trying to make conversation made Dev laugh. He knew he didn't have to act any differently, some of them seem to be trying a little too hard he thought to himself. "Well this is gonna be fun," he muttered to himself, a little louder than he thought.

Jaimie glanced over at a tan, muscular boy with dark brown hair. She nodded at him. "Yeah, maybe it will." She slowly made her way to him, unable to stop the nervousness building inside her. Making friends was not her expertise. She hoped it didn't show. "You never know right?"

She flipped some of her auburn hair over her shoulder, annoyed that it was in her face once again. She stuck her hands in her pockets as she slowly took her gaze from the boy, wishing talking to other humans she didn't know came more naturally. Instead of being a normal person when starting conversations, she always studied her words in her head before she spoke them, horrified that she'd accidentally insult the person she was talking to.

He was attractive, something that didn't at all help her shyness. She struggled with boys, which made her sister think she should coach her. The coaching hadn't worked at all; if anything it had made it worse. She cleared her throat a little bit, as if she thought it would make her braver.

Jaimie slowly held out her hand. "My name's Jaimie Anasazi, by the way." She hoped they could get into a conversation and that she'd begin to relax. Once she started getting to know someone, she usually was all right. The shyness usually began to wear off then. If only she could get to that spot....

She smiled at the boy, hoping she wasn't already coming off as a dork or like she was trying to hard. He looked nice, like someone who wouldn't judge her as a loser and just walk away. The thought made her feel more excited about being here, rather than afraid. She felt herself relaxing a tiny bit. It might be all right after all.

First of all, I want to thank everybody for being so patient with me. I went on vacation last week and had a little surprise. No internet! I want to reassure everyone that this contest is still going on, I just had some technical problems....

Anyways, instead of wasting anymore time, I am going to post the next challenge so everyone can get started on that while I "judge" the last round. I will post those results as soon as possible, and most likely some time tonight. To avoid any confusion, no one will be eliminated this round!

The Ice-Breaker

No camp is complete without that awkward moment when everyone sits in a circle and announces their name and random facts about themselves that no one really cares about. Sorry, guys, but not even these characters are going to get away without one of these.

All the characters have been brought to the main building of the camp called Home House. It is rather spacious, though there is only one room. Everyone is intructed to grab a chair from the closest and form a line. Once they have been settle down, the much to happy camp counselers inform the campers that they must each stand in front of everyone and answer five questions.

1. What is your name?
2. How old are you?
3. Where do you come from?
4. What is one unique fact about yourself?
5. Why are you here at camp?

After someone has gone, everyone will post their character's reaction to the speaking character. This may be as long or short, simple or complex, as you want. To make things a bit more clear, here is a slightly better explanation.

Whoever is first (see list below) will write of their character standing up in front of everyone else and answering those questions above. After they have posted, everyone else must post with their character's reaction to them. After everyone has posted their reaction, the next person on the list will go and so on and so on. If there are any questions, please give me a PM!

This may seem like tadious work, but creating your characters reaction to new characters is very important when writing a story. It sets their relationship to go a certain way whether its friends, enemies, romance, or something entirely different. It is very important that every character in a roleplay has a relationship with each and every one of the other characters, even if they have just met. And remember, be true to your character! Just because you like a member's character does not mean that your character will like them. Vice versa, if you do not care for a member's character, your character may fit perfectly with them as a friend. Also, don't judge a character by the member behind them.

Number of Posts Per Member: 12 (one answering questions and eleven reactions)
Deadline: August 1 (this one may take a lot of time, so this is really flexible)
Also, to try to keep things moving, everyone will have three days to post their answer. For example, the first person on the list will have until midnight on July 25th to post. If he/she does not, they will be moved to the bottom of the list and the next person will have three days to post their answer. After a person does post their answers, everyone has five days to post their responses. If you do not get your post in, that is alright. You may post reactions to multiple characters in one post. Well, that seems kinda confusing, so here is a better example.

Person One: Posts answers on July 23rd
-Eight People Post Reactions between the 23rd and the 28th-
-After midnight on the 31st an the second person has not posts-
Second person is moved to the bottom and the third person takes their turn
-Eight people post reaction to just this character and two post reaction to both of the previous characters and one person still has yet to post-

I really hope that is explanation enough, but if not, PM me and I will TRY to make it clearer, but I'm not quite sure how else to explain it...

Sorry to double post everyone, but I have completed the judging process for the first two round. Yes, people, I did say to. Did I forget to mention that the character bio was technically the first challenge...? :wink:

I will explain a little bit about how I am juding this in the most unbiased way possible. The elements you are being judged on are: number of paragraphs, number of written lines, amount of description, amount of interaction, grammar/spelling/flow, and anything out of character or out of story line. I also award some extra points to a few people in catoregories already predetermined a few weeks ago. Obviously, the judging of the bios was a little different and I went through each section of the bio to make my decision.

To keep things fun and fair and surprising, I am NOT going to say how many point ANYONE has or how many points a rank or specail extra is worth. So there should be no way for anyone to figure out who is winning or losing and by how much.

(I have hidden all names in case you do not want to know anything yet!)

The very same moment Jack entered the big main building in the middle of the camp, he quickly ran through it with his eyes. It had lots of space and looked kind of nice, though there was only one room there, which kind of surprised Jack, but a slight smile appeared in his face while he observed the building. The smile soon grew into a shy, but a bigger one when he saw the camp counselors here, waiting for all of them to gather in. He slowly walked up to them and did a formal hand shake with each of them, then stepped aside. He grabbed the nearest chair and sat down in front of the counselors, with this wide and awkward smile stuck on his face.

When all of the camp attendants have gathered in and settled down, the counselors began talking. At first it was all nice and sweet, until they got to the main point of the meeting, which Jack hasn't expected at all. This meeting was basically for introduction: they had to answer some questions about themselves. This wouldn't have been all that bad to Jack, if not one thing: they had to stand in front of other teens here while answering. Just from hearing that his eyes grew wide and he blushed very slightly. "Geez, this will be so embarrassing...But oh well, I shall try my best here. I came here to have some fun anyways."Jack thought as he listened to counselors speak.

His face got full red when the counselors pointed at him and told him to come to them. Meaning, he was the first. Jack slowly padded up there, and then looked at the other teens. As awkward as that was, he still tried to keep an eye contact with them.
His thoughts were distracted by the voices of one of the counselors. "Don't worry, we won't eat you there. It'll be fine."and a warm chuckle that followed it. Jack also chuckled, kind of awkwardly, but now he felt a bit braver.

Then the questionnaire began. The questions weren't as horrible as Jack thought they would be, well, at least the first two ones."What is your name?"the counselor asked. "Well, my name's Jack. Jack Kayden, that is.""How old are you?" "At the moment I am 16. I'll be 17 in few months." Jack answered, his smile getting more and more narrow with each answer. "Where do you come from?" the third question asked. "I have lived in this very same city ,that is nearby, my whole life, so...I am from...Over there." he answered and chuckled slightly. "What is one unique fact about yourself?" "Unique fact? Hm, I gotta think..." he answered, then began to slowly scratch his neck while running through many possible facts in his mind. "Possibly the unique fact would be that I always mix up the real harsh world with the perfect world I make up in my head. Not sure if that's unique though." Jack finally answered, looking at the counselors, seeing only their wide smiles. "Okay, now that's interesting and nice. So, the last question would be...Why are you here at camp? There must be some reasons behind it, whether it was someone's influence or your own decision..." Jack's smile grew wide again. This question was kind of nice, and he could've said something truly nice and smart here, unlike to the others, when he practically said some complete nonsense, or so he thought. "Well, I think most of us were, one way or another, influenced by our parents and relatives to come here. So yeah, my mother suggested me to attend this camp this year, and I wholeheartedly agreed with her, because I actually wanted to get out of my little house, meet some new people, have fun or just relax. So it was mostly my decision to come here, and I hope to have some fun here." Jack answered and smiled warmly to the counselors.

Counselors thanked Jack for his honest answers and let him to go back to his friends and sit down. Jack sat without looking at others, still being rather shy and embarrassed. "I really hope it all went well..." he thought, and then looked at the counselors, waiting for someone to go there next.

Ashlynn had started the short trek up to the cabins when a loud voice interrupted her. "Alright, campers! Please meet in the Home House!" a counselor called out, gesturing to the fairly large main building in camp. Ashlynn looked up, seeing the athletic looking woman, who seemed far too cheerful, a wide smile spread across her face.

Ashlynn resisted the urge to groan, instead hoisting her bag higher up on her shoulder. "I guess we should go," she muttered, glancing back at Willow. "We can just set out bags down in there for a while, I guess." She set off towards the "Home House" - could that name be any more cheesy? - ignoring the slight ache in her arms from carrying her luggage.

She reluctantly stepped inside, completely ignoring the bright smiles the counselors gave her, and setting her bag against the wall. It was only one room, but it was rather spacious. "Just a grab a chair out of the closet and form a line," another counselor instructed.

What is with these people and smiling? Ashlynn thought grumpily as she got the chair, sitting it fairly close to her bag. Others soon filed into the room, and one boy was called up to the counselors. Standing in front of all of them, he answered a series of questions; what's your name, how old are you, where do you come from, etc. Great, she thought sarcastically, it's one of those meetings.

Maybe she shouldn't be so bitter, but Ashlynn really, really didn't want to stand up in front of everyone. So she allowed the scowl to remain on her face, though it shrunk a little in intensity. She hoped it wouldn't be her turn any time soon; maybe, if she was lucky, she could get out of it.

Willow nodded, "Alright, I guess," she said, following Ash, because she figured that she should stick with the first acquaintance she had made at the camp so far.

The young girl beamed right back at the counselors, even though in her mind, she was doubting their sanity and or their actual levels of kindness. She walked to the closet and pulled out a chair, after she let her bag drop heavily onto the floor. She set up the chair next to ash in the line, and shoved the small duffel bag underneath it.

She nodded as the seemingly shy boy answered the questions given to him by the counselors. She made a mental note to talk to him during camp, he seemed like he could use a friend...

As she thought quickly over how she would answer the questions, she glanced at Ash, "What's the matter with you?" she whispered, one eyebrow raising itself.

He heaved a heavy sigh and grabbed a chair, he ignored the loud noise it made as it scraped against the floor. Dev lined up his chair, just like everyone else, and took a quick glance at the judges, ignoring their obnoxious smiles. Seriously, what am I getting myself in to? he thought, rolling his eyes.

Before sitting, Dev scanned to see the others there, the people he was sitting next to. Two girls, he had no idea what their names were, a short girl with black hair, and a taller girl with dark hair who would not stop scowling. "You regretting this too?" he asked in her direction, surprising himself by actually saying what he was thinking.

Dev decided to ignore his own comment, and smoothly sat down on his chair. Feet stretched out and crossed, one ankle over the other, Dev folded his tanned arms across his chest and prepared for this fabulous meeting.

The leaders of the camp began to speak, and Dev slowly started to lose interest, until they mentioned that they would basically have to present their life story to the entire camp. Well, maybe that was a little extreme, but in Dev's mind that was more personal information that he wouldn't care to share.

He felt a short stab of sympathy for the first boy who got up there. It always sucks going first. He listened intently, remaining calm and collective as the boy, which he now knew was named Jack, answered a few fairly simple questions. Okay, this shouldn't be too bad I guess, he thought, chewing on the inside of his lip as he sat silently brooding.

Dev nodded his head once Jack had finished, curious as to who would go next.
