"You could say you slammed them in between a door," Jace suggested as she placed a slice of pizza on her own plate. Though she wasn't actually hungry, she knew Trey would think something was wrong if she didn't take anything. She planned to simply pick at the food, due to her lingering feeling of being somewhat sick. She shook it off; one lousy headache wouldn't kill her...would it?

Bothered by his resistance to get first aid right away, Louis let it go only because Trey said he'd go later. While in line he grabbed a large slice of pizza and five extra napkins. After finding a table and sitting down, Louis had thought about Jace's suggestion. "Doors normally don't cause an injury like that... but I doubt the nurse would question it." He handed Trey the extra napkins. "Here. Change of 'bandage' for the time being." He started ripping apart his slice and eating the pieces, when he took out his science notes to make sure they were intact. In his hurry to get them out of the crossfire with the jock, he didn't notice that some preservative fluid had gotten on one of the pages and had smudged it badly. "Great." He muttered through a bite of pizza half hanging out of his mouth while trying to wipe it off with one of his own napkins.

Trey nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me." Once they were settled down in a table, he immediately set about eating his pizza as if his life depended on it. It was all in his best manners of course - he was no slob - though he couldn't help being annoyingly hungry. He took the napkins gratefully, thanking Louis as he put the bloodstained tissue in his pocket. "Thanks. I wonder what the principal will do when he finds that exploded wire," he said with a smirk. "I can only imagine the look on his-" though just as he said this, the speakers that connected throughout the whole school turned on. He had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach... Luckily, it was just a reminder for them to walk quietly down the halls... or something like that.

"That was close..." he muttered under his breath. He finished his pizza within the next six minutes, feeling extremely happy afterwards. "Hey Jace... you haven't eaten much. Aren't you hungry?" he inquired. He supposed she still may have a migraine, but he also remembered his promise not to mention it. "Perhaps you should visit the nurse too," he suggested, trying to hint that she should get help, but also trying not to give away the whole headache thing. He knew she would most likely not like to go to the nurse for help. Heck, even he hesitated at the thought. Though his reasons were different than hers... where as she may not go because she was too stubborn to ask for help, Trey's falter was because he was afraid to get caught.

"Huh?" Jace said quickly, looking up from the pizza she had been absently staring at, not really eating anything. She took a halfhearted bite, then swallowed, fighting her rising nausea the whole time. Taking a deep breath, she smiled at Trey. "I'm fine. I just ate a big breakfast," she assured him, the lie slipping easily out of her mouth. She frowned as he suggested that she go to the nurse; he knew what he was hinting at. "I don't need to go to the nurse," she responded firmly.

Louis was curious about why Jace's appetite was funny, but a big breakfast seemed legit, and he didn't know her well enough to suspect otherwise. Neatly ruffling his papers together and sliding them into his bag, he swallowed his last bite of lunch and suggested they leave if they were done eating. He wanted to get in and out before the next bell. Though granted if he was late again, at least they'd be in the right place for it. "If you're both done for now, did we wanna go? How's your hand Trey? Still bleeding?"

Trey got up steadily, taking his time in stretching his arms up towards the sky and giving a quiet yawn before picking up his tomato stained plate and throwing it out in a trash can a few feet away. He stood at the end of the table, checking his watch to see when lunch would end. "You know, suddenly the nurse doesn't seem like such a fantastic idea..." he said in a voice that contained worry underneath it. He was starting to glance at the P.A. system every now and then, somewhat paranoid that perhaps he may have left a drop of blood on the floor or that he left some kind of evidence behind. Nothing usually went wrong, so he wasn't usually paranoid. This time, though, well...

Jace might have pushed him on some other day. But she knew he was a bit paranoid, which was a bit unusual, but expected considering all the stuff that had gone wrong in there. Noticing the occasional glance at the PA system, Jace gave him a somewhat comforting smile, hoping to reassure her friend. "You don't have to go," she assured him. Besides, if she pressed him to go, he would probably hint that she needed to go as well, which wasn't going to happen.

"Ugh, you two are impossible." Louis muttered under his breath and pinching the bridge of his nose. He sighed and thought a moment. Chances are, Trey was suddenly rethinking the first-aid treatment so he didn't risk getting caught. He didn't know Jace's reason. Likely the same, even though she wasn't hurt. Maybe she left a trace too? He had no idea, but he did know that chancing infection would be painful and slow healing for Trey at least. He threw his bag over his shoulder and also throwing his plate out, he started walking out. "I'm at least going. I'll be back unless you two change your minds, wait for me here."

Trey was surprised at Louis's actions. What would he have to go to the nurse for? Perhaps something was wrong with him as well? Trey look at Jace, then back to Louis, then eventually down at his own bleeding fingers, which were beginning to prickle uncomfortably from the blood loss. "I uh..." he looked at Jace once more, gave her a meaningful look that told her he would be following Louis and that he hoped she would come, and headed off in his direction. "Louis, wait!" He caught up with Louis in almost no time, seeing as he had just departed five seconds ago. "I didn't want to go because I'm afraid I'll get caught, but I think you may be right... and an infection isn't worth skipping detention..." He wasn't quite sure why he was admitting this, but all he knew was that he needed to get it bandaged up before he started losing feeling in his fingers. That would not be good... seeing as half of what he did required the use of his hands.

Jace followed, though reluctantly. She would follow merely to accompany her friends, however. She would not be telling the nurse the extent of her headaches for sure. "Don't think you guys get to skip lunch without me," she broke in lightly once she had caught up with them.

"Louis? Back so soo-" Nurse Kratty stopped short at realizing that he had brought company. "Can I help you two?"

Although not entirely surprised when they decided to follow, Louis was a bit shocked at Trey's confession. He was relieved that his so-far-more-of-acquaintance-than-friend had changed his mind. Jace likely followed cause her bestie was leaving her alone. "This one could use some disinfectant and some bandages." He nudged Trey forward and the nurse examined his hand. She eyed the wound suspiciously, but didn't question it. She had heard it all while her several years caring for injured and ill students. Frankly, she wasn't curious anymore. "With a cut that deep, I would have to agree." She gave Louis a knowing smile and Trey a comforting one. "I'll be honest with you, hun, this'll sting a bit." She opened a brown bottle, and leaning his hand over the sink, emptied what was left onto the wound, bubbles, sizzling, and seeping through and over his hand.

While Trey and the Nurse were preoccupied, Louis glanced over Jace. "You sure you're feeling okay?" He asked referring to her lack of appetite.

Trey nodded hesitantly, unsure of his real feelings about being here. He was, of course, nervous as heck, but the fact that the nurse hadn't asked a question about his wounds was definitely reassuring. "I'll be honest with you, hun, this'll sting a bit," the nurse said, and before Trey could even let out a quiet objection, she had brought his hand over to the sink and dumped its contents onto his already stung fingers. Restraining the urge to let out a short scream of pain, he decided to allow himself to deeply wince instead. The stinging was becoming overwhelming, and at one point it even seemed to take over his whole hand and reach up to his wrist. His attempt to endure it seemed to be working for the most part, on the outside, but the fact was that both she and Louis had been right. The cut was a lot worse than he had originally let on. The brown liquid seemed to be healing it better, taking out the infection, but suddenly a light bulb to his left began sparking.

"What the-?" he muttered to himself, wondering what the heck was wrong with the circuitry in this school, when all of a sudden, an entire block of light in the corner began to fizz and spark. Before he knew it, the entire corner of the room was dimly lit, and that block of light was burned out. Glass shards were scattered on the floor, and by now Trey had completely forgotten the pain. It came back all at once, and he turned to see his hand which had stopped bleeding due to the brown liquid, but was still savagely red. Another short wince and a second block of lights on the ceiling began fizzing, and Trey suddenly said, "Uh... nurse? What's wrong with the lights?" before he could stop himself.

Jace briefly wondered if this had anything to do with the destroyed wires in the principal's office. Before she could feel guilty about that, however, another stabbing pain shot through her head. Letting out a small sound of pain, her hands shot up to clutch her head, fingers pressed firmly against her temples. While not severe enough to reduce her to a shivering, crying ball, it was enough to make her squeeze her eyes shut and fight the urge to scream from pain.

"Ow," she whimpered, leaning against a wall for support. After what was only less than a minute, though it felt more like an eternity, the pain subsided. Taking in a shaking breath, Jace opened her eyes to see the lights still flickering. She could only hope no one would notice her momentary act of pain, the way her skin was pale, and the slight tremble to her hands.

The nurse looked back up after covering Trey's hand to shield it from the flying shards of glass. She stated the obvious, "That... that's not normal at all." Pulling a flat metal container and a q-tip out of the small cupboard above the sink, she applied what was inside the container with the q-tip quickly yet professionally to Trey's wound. She then put them away, all almost with the same motion, and pulled out some bandage. Wrapping it around his hand then taping it firmly in place, she looked at Trey's face for the first time since he walked into the room. "You're good to go. I'm going to go see what was with the lights."

Louis watched her walk out, and tried to process what had just happened. "Okay. That was weird." He listened for a moment and felt like his pulse was in his ears. But he wasn't that hyped up after a few busted bulbs was he? Then he realized as the sound of a racing heart started to echo, that it wasn't his pulse he heard, but Jace's. He was standing closest to her, so he heard her's before Trey's, and both sounded anxious. Her's more than his though. Was it from fear? Did she get cut off some broken glass and it was pain? "You okay, Jace?" He asked again.

More nervous than Trey could even bother to admit, he was seriously beginning to question coming to the nurse now. Oh well, at least his wound was bandaged. He would probably be able to take it off in a few hours if we was lucky. As he searched around the room, inspecting the damage, however, he noticed that Jace was once again looking pale. He could only imagine that she had just had another migraine attack, and as he sped up to her other side (the one Louis was not currently occupying), he began to wonder vaguely whether or not they really were migraines. Last he checked, headaches didn't knock you out or down. He put a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Something's really up here," he said, indicating the lights up ahead which were void of glass or light at all, then poking her head once so that she could understand what he meant.

He wasn't entirely sure what was up, but his only possible solution was that they bail school for a short while. At least for the day or next. "Look, I think we should take a break from education, okay?" he suggested, looking Jace hard in the eyes and then turning towards Louis. "What say you?" He didn't wanna leave this guy out, and although he had a suspecting feeling that their friend-in-progress would be hesitant towards playing hooky, he also hoped he would agree. After all, he was smart - at least a lot smarter than Trey, anyways, and he was useful, not to mention friendly enough for Trey to consider trustworthy.
