Dear Balto, Why didn't you tell me about the cats? I must have dozed off when you had the fight with the cats. Golly, they must have been meanie-beanies! And, if it's not too much trouble, can you get the team back together to make another run to Nenana? I ordered some aspirin for that huge headache I just got from reading a rather gratuitous run-on sentence a couple of posts back. 'Kay? Thanks.

Kinda hard to say things to a dog, they don't understand much. I think the concept here is to inquire as to what you would say to Balto if you could. He's not a real dog. He's a cartoon character. There is a rather distinct difference. And actually, even real dogs understand humans and their intent, verbal tone and body language than you may think. And many real dogs have a limited understanding of certain key words in the human language from their training and exposure to humans over the centuries. Even National Geographic's recent articles on animal intelligence has shown that dogs like Border Collies can amass a working vocabulary of understood words, and associate them with certain things.

How do you feel about the controversy over Balto 4? Do you hate that it might never happen? Are you annoyed about at how much it's talked about? Or do you support those who support the belief of a "possible" Balto 4 ?
Sincerely Alicane The character obviously would not know that. Let alone the fact that he would not know that he is in an animated movie. Within the confines of that milieu, as far as the character is concerned he and all the others are real. Ugh. Anyone who posts questions to the character like this is missing the point of the freaking topic.

^ I still think this topic is pointless. There is no discussion, just kiddies posting random things that pop into their head about Balto. Therefore a spam invite.

Actually that scene was meant to be more of a turning point in his life where he finally accepts his wolf heritage that he was always ashamed of There's a lot I'd want to say to him if I could. Realistically since he's a dog, I'd normally just pet him all day and go on about how cute he is . I've always been a huge animal lover. But I would want to tell him how inspiring I think he is because he was the underdog who no one really believed in, but pulled through and made a huge accomplishment that saved lives. I'd thank him for it, and for being as loyal as a dog can be and not giving up even though it was grueling and dangerous. That's more than we can say about the strength and determination of a lot of humans these days (this is if I were talking to the real Balto, not the film version). I guess it sounds a bit corny and probably the same thing anyone else would say, but it's still some of what I would want to say to him.

Therefore a spam invite. You're still complaining about this? Its just an opportunity for people to express their thoughts about Balto, both the negative and the positive. Just because there isn't an in depth discussion happening, doesn't make the topic useless. ^True that.

There's a lot of bad energy in the topic. Mainly because it feels like there'll be a fight here in the near future due to some of the letters written to Balto and this topic will be locked because of it. Dear Balto,I am a new fan of yours and a new member to this site as well. I haven't gotten to know much about you until now. I don't know too much about you just yet, except for watching the movie for the first time last night. I want to give a personal thank you for doing one of the most courageous thing I've ever heard of. Doing the Impossible to save those children and the town of Nome. God Bless you and the sled team!-Lucario

Well, we've resolved the species question at least. lol However, I believe this topic covers the character in general, not specific to only one movie...
